If I asked you to name an email Marketing tool, what would you say? Quickbooks Email Marketing
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?

Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the marketplace, causing long-time customers to question their loyalties.

Like most email advertising providers Nowadays, You’ll Need to Go through a review process before being able to properly use the software.
When you first register, you’ll be asked to finish your profile.
This includes information like your organization name, site, Business, address, business size, list size and even the kind of material you intend to send.
Then, You Have to verify your Website (or domain name).
This is still part of this acceptance process, and MailerLite will Simply ask which email is associated to this domain so they can email you a confirmation link.
Once you’ve completed these Measures, you ought to wait it out.
The MailerLite team will review your application, assess your Site, and determine whether you are a good match for their services.
(In other words, they are making sure you’re not a spammer/scammer)
As revealed above, you’ll still be Able to use the software to create campaigns and perform with the features, but you will not be able to send anything until accepted.
I was”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limitation of 500 subscribers.
Here Is What the email said:
However, while these steps aren’t perfect for getting started, it Does help prevent malicious users from hurting everybody’s deliverability.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll rely on automations to handle Nearly all your email marketing.
(We’ll get to automations soon, do not worry.)
But whether it is a brand new blog article, podcast, or timely Announcement, there is always some excuse to send a more immediate email.
That is where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the brand new’Create Campaign’ will provide you several options.
– Regular campaign: A Conventional broadcast email.
– A/B split campaign: Multiple email Versions, including subject line, from name and, yes, even email content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to readers who Don’t start your broadcast email, together with the option of changing the subject line and email content.
– RSS campaign: Produce a recurring campaign That sends new content to subscribers using your site’s RSS feed.
Apart from a few additional options, most of these will follow The same step-by-step process of a normal campaign.
So let’s walk you through it.
Once you click on to create your effort, you’ll be requested to Select a favorite editor, whether that’s the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
You can change to the Templates tab and select from among the pre-designed email templates — that will move you into the dragn’ drop editor by default.
At the time of writing, there are 21 email templates to select From which is a little on the low side, but the designs are super modern.
And, of course, if you would just Like to reuse a previous email, you can click on the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this instance, I will select the first template from the library.
The editor is easy to work with, Which makes viewing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also use the cubes in the sidebar to include distinct Types of articles to your email, such as videos, product columns, and societal links.
After making your changes, simply click’Done Editing’ and you will Be carried to the recipients’ options where you can choose your classes or sections.
The tab also allows one To develop segment-like rules , in the event your targeting is not quite right.
Finally, right before sending, then you’ll get into the’Program’ screen.
This is where you control if your broadcast email should go Out, if that is immediately, at a set time/date, or in accordance with your subscribers time zones.
Impressive, right? Quickbooks Email Marketing
Handling Your Clients
Having granular control over your readers is arguably one of The most important aspects of any email marketing program now.
Because highly personalized campaigns Are Essential if You are looking to increase opens, clicks, and, most importantly, your own conversions.
And while many providers allow you to”label” readers in order To target them effectively, MailerLite uses a slightly different approach.
When you start up your subscriber dash, you’ll notice two Choices; Segments and Groups.
Segments are essentially rules.
Your subscribers belong to a section only when they fulfill the Specified rules, and will be automatically inserted or removed so.
Here’s what establishing a rule looks like:
Notice how you can even combine Principles, as well as another rule when the first does not exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The following tab is for groups, and also the difference in name, These behave much like your normal”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the name to’Tags’, but ultimately decided against it)
Unlike Segments, Groups are upgraded manually or via an Automation principle — that we’ll get to in a minute — and they don’t have any value besides what you actually call them.
As you start to use this platform, you’ll begin to understand Where Segments and Groups are generally used, but MailerLite delivers a hand in case you’re unsure:
Basically, groups are much more of a Deliberate activity on a per-subscriber basis, whereas Segments permit you to bulge multiple subscribers together based on a common denominator.
A tad confusing, I’ll admit… but I believe it’s a fair trade-off For the added flexibility. Besides, they are discretionary.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to customize your email copy.
You’ll notice that MailerLite has Already populated this region with their particular fields, such as title, company, and country.
If You Would like to create your own custom fields, you can do so by Clicking on the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV file of your subscribers along with Your custom field information in separate columns… or may simply add these fields to your forms which will only apply to prospective subscribers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I made and added to a form:
I will not go too much into the form Stuff here because I have a whole section on this below, but this is the approach I would recommend if you wished to use this feature.
Again, as Soon as You’ve collected your custom field data from fresh Subscribers, you are able to pull them in to your email content and subject line.
Just click the’Personalization’ drop down and choose your Customized field.
I’m barely scratching the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it’s important that you know that this is a feature you can use.
Overall, it is fair to say MailerLite has their contributor Direction and personalization features on point. Quickbooks Email Marketing
If you are not impressed with what you have seen so far, then maybe The page builder will tickle your fancy.
After choosing’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, you will be Able to select from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template choice Is not winning any awards, but it will offer a fantastic base to work from if, like the majority people, you don’t have that pure eye for layout.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, however They all finally do the same job; collect an email address.
This time, the editor will give you 17 building blocks to Further build or alter your landing page.
Now, I have used my fair share of Visual site builders, and this is already better than a few dedicated solutions *Infection * WPBakery.
Along with the basic building blocks, you can use components like Hero segments, popup buttons, testimonials and countdown timers.
No, it won’t be replacing landing Page builders such as Thrive Architect or even LeadPagesanytime soon, but credit where credit due, this item over-delivers on all 3 kind types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email marketing tools, MailerLite actually offers a Adequate pair of form building tools.
Also, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this exact same interface, so there’s a lot to cover .
Let us start with your Bog-standard embedded form.
These forms are created inside MailerLite in order to get An embed code, which you can then place on your site to show it on specific pages.
Despite starting off super fundamental, the form designer allows you To customize everything in the kind style, fields, background, title, enter fields and, of course, the button.
Form text may also be edited directly, which gives you a chance To visualize your backup in real-time.
It would have been nice to have Some templates, but as you know, there’s more to some form than just its appearance.
Clicking on the’Settings’ tab will Make It Possible for you to configure the way the Form functions, such as adding extra fields and setting a custom success page.
(There’s even a GDPR compliance option. Sweet.)
And talking of the success webpage…
…MailerLite also lets you customize the default message, That will replace the embedded form and prevents users from redirecting.
Last but certainly not least, you Can check how your form displays on mobile by switching the toggle to reactive mode.
You won’t be able to make any design changes , but it makes Sense to check, nevertheless.
So that is an overview of the Embedded form but as I said before, you can even create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the majority of this setup process is identical, you will find Still a few differences I’d like to point out.
Unlike embedded forms, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most In depth selection, they do provide a fantastic foundation to work from and the editor is at least as simple to use for this form kind.
Clicking the’E-commerce’ template requires me into a preview Before moving into the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new options under form types This time around:
Considering paid tools like Thrive Leads exist for ribbons and slide-in forms, it is pretty impressive to observe this amount of control over popup types.
And, like before, you can perform with the styling options to get it Matched up with your own branding.
Finally, you can choose the close Behaviour of your type under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is the X icon, but you can swap out this for A”No thanks” text option, or have both.
This is where most email Marketing platforms would leave you, but MailerLite has one more trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like most tools, you’ll find a summary of your campaign Statistics in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from campaign open and click data, Subscriber development, automation analytics, and form signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you specific reporting for that effort.
This is where you’ll find a few statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading environment, email client and much more.
This should be plenty of Information for the average consumer…
…but if you really want To dig into the numbers, you can click into different areas of the report for a more comprehensive breakdown.
You can find some real gems beneath These reports.
For example, the’View Mail’ tab also displays a click map, so You can see your readers interacted to one another.
Reports for automations are Available under the’Automations’ tab, even although I found to be less enlightening than effort reports.
Here’s a Fast example:
Total, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting port, and most will find the available statistics more than enough to fulfill their demands.
What’s email marketing without a dashboard of automation?
For most reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this review.
The great news? If you’ve used a visual workflow builder, You’ll immediately feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, The automations interface is easy, clean and simple to navigate — something which certainly can not be said for each and every email marketing program.
After establishing your trigger, you can begin adding steps to your workflow.
These measures can be anything from sending an email, adding a Postpone, a conditional split, or an action, like transferring a contributor or updating their records.
Here’s a straightforward workflow I set together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed if they don’t open my email within seven days.
There are countless Possibilities in regards to workflow automations similar to this, and MailerLite ought to have no trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it’s not quite as Feature-rich as something such as ActiveCampaign because it lacks some of the conditional elements. (Split, Go To, Goal, etc.. )
For example, there’s currently no automation for moving Readers directly into a different automation.
That being said, most of these actions can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into different classes that trigger new automation workflows. It is just not as efficient…. yet.
Another matter of efficiency here is when creating new emails In the automation workflow builder.
After having an email cube to The workflow, you will be asked to put in your topic line that then appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking the’Design email’ button will fire up the Editor:
Now, you’ll be briefly Redirected to the typical campaign creation wizard, which I covered previously in the review.
This time, but as Soon as You’ve created your email, clicking on the ‘Done editing’ button will direct you straight back to the automations workflow instead of the usual sending options.
Finally, your email will probably be Loaded into your automation.
A Wonderful touch here is having a thumbnail preview of your Email inside your automation block, which means you can get an concept of what it contains at a glimpse.
While this procedure may seem like A grind on paper, it’s actually much quicker than what I am used to with other email marketing tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something such as ConvertKit where The editor is loaded within the automations builder, so you will probably find this a downgrade in functionality.
It is quick enough for me, Personally, but I guess it’s all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there’s 1 type of automation You will not find in MailerLite, and that I think it’s very important to highlight.
The ability to trigger an automation (or step) based on the way Subscribers interact with the webpages on your site.
This kind of behavioral targeting only is not accessible MailerLite right now, so if it’s something you use or plan to use, you may want to skip this one. Quickbooks Email Marketing
The cost of MailerLite is among the tools biggest Selling things, and let’s face it, we all love a good bargain.
For starters, they offer an unlimited free plan that includes All attributes (including premium) for as many as 1,000 subscribers.
While There’s some subtle Branding on your mails using this plan, it’s still an wonderful alternative for those starting out.
And what about the premium plans?
It turns out, at approximately half the Cost of this competition generally, MailerLite is by far among the least expensive options on the industry. Additionally, if you’re willing to pay annually, you can also get a much better discount.
In Reality, I haven’t been able to find anything that does exactly the Exact Same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of those very few advertising tools The (very crowded) sector in recent years, which is no easy feat.
While it is not as quickly as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it works exceptionally well at virtually anything you can throw at it.
I find MailerLite strikes the perfect balance Between flexibility, simplicity and speed, and all at a price point you’ll seriously struggle to beat.
