Contrary to Segments, Groups are upgraded manually or through an Automation rule — which we’ll get to in a minute — and they have no value aside from what you call them.
As you Begin to use this stage, you’ll begin to understand At which Segments and Groups are generally used, but MailerLite delivers a hand in case you’re uncertain:
Fundamentally, groups are more of a Deliberate activity on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments allow you to bulge multiple subscribers together based on a common denominator.
Somewhat confusing, I will admit… but I feel it’s a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. In any case, they are optional.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to customize your email copy.
You will notice that MailerLite has Already populated this area with their own fields, such as name, company, and nation.
If you want to create your own custom fields, you can do this by Clicking on the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV record of your subscribers along with Your custom field data in distinct columns… or may simply add these fields to your types which will only apply to prospective readers.

I will not go too much into the shape Things here because I have an entire section on this below, but this is the approach I’d recommend if you wanted to use this feature.

Let’s begin with your Bog-standard embedded form.
These forms are first created inside MailerLite so as to get An embed code, which you can then place on your website to display it on particular pages.

This is where you’ll find a few more advanced statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading environment, email client and more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary user…

The good news? If you’ve used a visual workflow builder, then You’ll instantly feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, That the automations interface is simple, clean and simple to navigate — something which certainly can not be said for every email marketing program.
After setting your trigger, you can begin adding steps to your workflow.
These steps can be anything from sending an email, adding a Postpone, a bubble break, or an action, such as transferring a contributor or upgrading their records.
Here’s a straightforward workflow I set together, where readers Are unsubscribed when they don’t open my email within 7 days.
There are innumerable Possibilities when it comes to workflow automations like this, and MailerLite should have no trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it is not quite as Feature-rich as something like ActiveCampaign because it lacks some of the conditional elements. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.)
For example, there’s now no automation for transferring Readers directly into a different automation.
That being said, the Majority of these actions can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into different classes that trigger new automation workflows. It is just much less effective…. yet.
Another matter of efficacy here is when generating new mails From the automation workflow builder.
After having an email block to The workflow, you will be asked to put in your subject line which appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking on the’Design email’ button will fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be temporarily Redirected to the typical campaign creation wizard, which I covered earlier in the review.
This time, but as Soon as You’ve established your email, clicking on the ‘Done editing’ button will direct you straight back into the automations workflow rather than the usual sending alternatives.
Ultimately, your email address will be Loaded into your automation.
A nice touch here is having a thumbnail preview of your Email inside your automation cube, so it’s possible to get an idea of what it contains at a glimpse.
