Like many online businesses now, email advertising has been Dominated by the identical large players for the last ten years. Which means that they get encouraged very deeply and achieve a great deal of mindshare.

MailerLite has done exactly that.

Like most email marketing providers these days, you will need to Go through a review process before being able to properly use the program.
When you first sign up, you’ll be asked to finish your profile.
This includes information like your company name, website, Business, address, business size, list size and also the kind of content you plan to send.
Then, you need to verify your Site (or domain name).
This is still part of the acceptance process, and MailerLite will Simply inquire which email is associated to that domain so they can email you a confirmation link.
As Soon as You’ve completed those Steps, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite staff will review your application, check your Site, and determine whether you are a good fit for their services.
(In other words, they are making sure you are not a spammer/scammer)
As shown above, you’ll still be Able to use the software to create campaigns and play with the attributes, but you won’t be able to send anything until accepted.
I was”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limit of 500 subscribers.

But while these measures aren’t perfect for getting started, it Does help prevent malicious users from hurting everyone else’s deliverability.
If you are anything like me, you’ll rely on automations to Deal with Nearly all your email advertising.
(We will get to automations soon, don’t worry.)
But if it is a brand new blog article, podcast, or timely Announcement, there’s always a reason to send a more immediate email.
That’s where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the new’Create Campaign’ will give you several choices.
– Regular campaign: A traditional broadcast email.

– Auto resend: Resend to subscribers who Don’t open your broadcast email, together with the choice of altering the subject line and email articles.

Managing Your Clients

Your subscribers belong to a segment only when they meet the Specified rules, and will be automatically inserted or removed accordingly.

Notice how you can even combine Principles, as well as another rule if the first does not exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The following tab is for groups, and also the difference in name, These act much like your normal”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the title to’Tags’, but finally decided against it)
Contrary to Segments, Groups are upgraded manually or via an Automation rule — that we’ll get to in a minute — and they have no value aside from what you call them.

Basically, groups are more of a Deliberate activity on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments allow you to lump multiple contributors collectively based on a frequent denominator.
Somewhat confusing, I will admit… but I feel it’s a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. In any case, they’re discretionary.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to customize your email copy.
You will notice that MailerLite has Already populated this area with their particular fields, such as title, business, and nation.
If You Would like to create your own custom fields, you can do so by Clicking the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV record of your subscribers together with Your custom field data in separate columns… or may simply add these fields to your types which will only apply to future subscribers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I made and added to a form:
I won’t go too much to the form Things here since I have an entire section on this below, but this is the approach I’d recommend if you wanted to use this feature.
Again, once you’ve collected your custom field data from new Subscribers, you can pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click on the’Personalization’ drop down and choose your Custom field.
I am barely scratching the surface Of what is possible with custom fields, but it is important that you know this is a feature you may use.
Overall, it is reasonable to state MailerLite has their subscriber Management and personalization features on point. Mojn
If you’re not impressed by what you have seen so far, then maybe The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After selecting’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, you will be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template selection Isn’t winning any awards, it does offer a fantastic foundation to work from if, for example the majority of us, you don’t have that natural eye for design.
I went ahead and chosen the’Lead Generation’ template, though They finally do the same job; collect an email address.
This time, the editor will give you 17 building blocks to Further construct or change your landing page.
Now, I have used my fair share of Visual page builders, and this is better than a few dedicated alternatives *Infection * WPBakery.
Along with the fundamental building blocks, you can use elements like Hero sections, popup buttons, reviews and countdown timers.
No, it won’t be replacing landing Page builders like Thrive Architect or even LeadPagesanytime shortly, but credit where credit due, this item over-delivers on all three form types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite actually offers a Adequate set of form building tools.
Also, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this exact same interface, so there’s a lot to cover .
Let’s start with your Bog-standard embedded form.
These forms are created inside MailerLite so as to get An embed code, which you can then place on your site to show it on specific pages.
Despite starting off super fundamental, the form designer lets you To personalize everything in the kind style, subjects, background, title, input fields and, of course, the button.

While the majority of this installation process is identical, there are Still a few differences I’d like to point out.
Unlike embedded kinds, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most Comprehensive choice, they do offer a fantastic foundation to work from and the editor is just as simple to use with this form kind.
Clicking the’E-commerce’ template requires me to a preview Before moving into the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new choices under form types This time around:
Considering paid tools like Thrive Leads exist for both ribbons and slide-in forms, it is pretty impressive to see this level of control over popup forms.
And, like before, you can play with the styling options to get it Matched with your own branding.
Finally, you can Select the close Behaviour of your type under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is that the X icon, but you can swap this out for A”No thanks” text choice, or have both.
This is really where most email Marketing platforms will render you, but MailerLite has one more trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your effort Data in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from effort open and click data, Subscriber growth, automation stats, and kind signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you specific coverage for that campaign.
This is where you’ll discover some more advanced statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading surroundings, email client and much more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary consumer…
…but if you really want To dig into the numbers, you can click into different areas of this report to get a more detailed breakdown.
You can find some real gems beneath These reports.
For example, the’View Mail’ tab also displays a click map, so You can see your readers interacted with your emails in relation to one another.
Reports for automations are Available under the’Automations’ tab, although I found these to be less enlightening than effort reports.

Total, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting port, and many will get the available statistics more than sufficient to meet their demands.
What is email advertising with no dashboard of automation?
For most reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this particular review.
The good news? If you have ever used a visual workflow builder, then You’ll instantly feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, The automations interface is easy, clean and simple to navigate — something which certainly can not be said for each and every email marketing program.
After setting your trigger, you can begin adding measures to your workflow.
These steps could be anything from sending an email, adding a Postpone, a conditional split, or an action, such as transferring a contributor or updating their records.
Here’s a simple workflow I put together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed if they do not open my email within 7 days.
There are innumerable Possibilities in regards to workflow automations like this, and MailerLite should not have any trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it’s not quite as Feature-rich as something like ActiveCampaign since it lacks some of the conditional components. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.)
For example, there’s currently no automation for moving Subscribers directly into another automation.
That being said, most of these activities can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into various classes that activate new automation workflows. It is simply much less efficient…. yet.
Another matter of efficiency here is when generating new emails From the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email block to The workflow, you’ll be asked to add your topic line that appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking on the’Design email’ button will automatically fire up the Editor:
Now, you’ll be briefly Redirected to the typical campaign creation wizard, which I covered previously in the review.
This time, however, once you’ve created your email, clicking the ‘Done editing’ button will guide you straight back into the automations workflow instead of the usual sending options.
Ultimately, your email will be Loaded into your own automation.
A nice touch here is using a thumbnail preview of your Email inside your automation cube, which means you can get an idea of what it contains at a glance.
While this process may seem like A grind on newspaper, it is really much faster than what I am used to with other email marketing tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something like ConvertKit where The editor is loaded inside the automations builder, you’ll probably find that this downgrade in performance.
It’s fast enough for me, Personally, but I guess it’s all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there is one Kind of automation You will not find in MailerLite, also that I think that it’s very important to highlight.
The ability to trigger an automation (or measure ) based on the way Readers interact with the pages on your website.
This kind of behavioral targeting just isn’t accessible MailerLite at this time, so if it’s something you use or plan to utilize, you might want to skip this one. Mojn
The Price of MailerLite is undoubtedly one of those tools largest Selling points, and let us face it, we all love a good deal.

And what about the premium plans?

In Reality, I have not been able to find anything that does exactly the Exact Same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of those very few advertising tools to interrupt The (very crowded) industry in recent decades, which is no simple feat.
While it’s not as quickly as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it works exceptionally well at virtually anything you can throw at it.
I find MailerLite strikes the perfect balance Between flexibility, simplicity and speed, and all at a price point you’ll seriously struggle to conquer.
