Introduction Mailerlite Survey
When I asked you to name an email Marketing tool, what could you say? Mailerlite Survey
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?
Like many online industries today, email advertising has been Dominated by the identical large players for the last decade. Which means that they get promoted very heavily and accomplish a lot of mindshare.
Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the marketplace, causing long-time customers to question their loyalties.
MailerLite has done exactly that.

Like most email advertising providers Nowadays, you will need to Go through a review process before being able to properly use the software.
When you first register, you’ll be asked to complete your profile.
This includes information such as your organization name, site, Business, address, business size, list size and also the kind of content you plan to send.
Then, you need to verify your Site (or domain ).
This remains part of this approval process, and MailerLite will Simply ask which email is associated to this domain in order that they could email you a verification link.
As Soon as You’ve completed those Steps, you ought to wait it out.
The MailerLite team will review your application, check your Site, and ascertain whether you are a fantastic match for their service.
(Quite simply, they’re making sure you’re not a spammer/scammer)
As shown above, you’ll still be Able to use the software to create campaigns and perform with the attributes, but you won’t have the ability to send anything until accepted.
I was”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limit of 500 subscribers.
Here’s what the email said:
But while these measures aren’t ideal for getting started, it Does help stop malicious users from hurting everyone else’s deliverability.
If you are anything like me, you’ll rely on automations to Deal with Nearly all your email advertising.
(We’ll get to automations shortly, don’t worry.)
But if it is a brand new blog post, podcast, or timely Announcement, there’s always a reason to send a more immediate email.
That’s where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the brand new’Produce Campaign’ will provide you several choices.
– Regular effort: A traditional broadcast email.
– A/B split effort: Multiple email Variations, such as subject line, from name and, yes, even email content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to subscribers who Don’t start your broadcast email, with the choice of changing the subject line and email content.
– RSS effort: Produce a recurring campaign That sends new content to readers using your site’s RSS feed.
Apart from a few additional choices, most of these will follow Exactly the exact same step-by-step procedure of a normal effort.
So let’s walk you through it.
As Soon as You click on to create your campaign, you’ll be requested to Select a favorite editor, whether that’s the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
Otherwise, you can switch to the Templates tab and choose from among the pre-designed email templates — which will move you into the dragn’ drop editor .
At the time of writing, you’ll find 21 email templates to select From which is somewhat on the low side, but the designs are super modern.
And, of course, if you would just Prefer to reuse a previous email, you can click the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this instance, I’ll choose the first template from the library.
The editor is easy to work with, Making viewing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also utilize the cubes in the sidebar to add different Types of articles to your email, such as videos, product columns, and societal links.
After making your adjustments, just click’Done Editing’ and you will Be taken to the recipients’ options where you can select your groups or sections.
The advanced tab also allows you To develop segment-like rules on-the-fly, in the event your targeting is not quite perfect.
Finally, right before sending, then you’ll get to the’Schedule’ screen.
This is where you control when your broadcast email should go Out, whether that is instantly, at a set time/date, or in accordance with your subscribers time zones.
Impressive, right? Mailerlite Survey
Handling Your Subscribers
Having granular control over your readers is arguably one of The most essential facets of any email advertising program now.
Because highly personalized campaigns Are Essential if You’re looking to increase opens, clicks, and, most importantly, your conversions.
And while most providers allow you to”tag” subscribers in order To target them more effectively, MailerLite uses a slightly different approach.
When you start up your subscriber dashboard, you’ll see two Options; Segments and Groups.
Segments are essentially principles.
Your subscribers belong to a section only when they meet the Specified principles, and are automatically added or eliminated accordingly.
Here’s what setting up a rule looks like:
Notice how you can also combine Principles, in addition to another rule when the first doesn’t exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The next tab is for classes, and also the difference in title, These act much like your usual”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the name to’Tags’, but finally decided against it.)
Contrary to Segments, Groups are upgraded manually or through an Automation principle — which we will get to in a moment — and they have no value besides what you call them.
As you start to use this platform, you’ll begin to understand Where Segments and Groups are generally used, however, MailerLite offers a hand in the event you’re unsure:
Basically, groups are much more of a Deliberate activity on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments permit you to lump multiple subscribers collectively according to a common denominator.
A tad confusing, I’ll admit… but I believe it is a fair trade-off For the added flexibility. In any case, they are optional.
Finally, the’Fields’ tab is used to personalize your email copy.
You will notice that MailerLite has Already populated this region with their particular fields, such as name, company, and nation.
If You Would like to create your own custom fields, you can do this by Clicking on the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they really work?
You can either upload a CSV file of your subscribers together with Your custom field information in distinct columns… or can simply add these fields to a types which will only apply to future subscribers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I created and added to a form:
I will not go too much to the shape Stuff here since I have an entire section on that below, but this is the strategy I would recommend if you wanted to use this feature.
Again, as Soon as You’ve gathered your custom field data from new Readers, you can pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click the’Personalization’ drop down and select your Customized field.
I’m barely scratching the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it’s important to understand this is a feature you may use.
Overall, it’s reasonable to state MailerLite has their subscriber Management and personalization features on stage. Mailerlite Survey
If you are not impressed by what you have seen so far, then maybe The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After selecting’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, then you’ll be Able to select from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template choice Is not winning any awards, but it does offer a great base to work from if, for example most people, you do not have that pure eye for design.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, though They ultimately do the identical job; accumulate an email address.
This time, the editor will give you 17 building blocks to Further construct or alter your landing page.
Now, I have used my fair share of Visual page builders, and this is already better than some dedicated alternatives *Infection * WPBakery.
Along with the basic building blocks, you can use components like Hero sections, popup buttons, testimonials and countdown timers.
It will not be replacing landing Page builders like Thrive Architect or even LeadPagesanytime soon, but credit where credit due, this thing over-delivers on all three kind types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite really Provides a Adequate set of type building tools.
Not only that, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this same interface, so there is a whole lot to cover .
Let us start with your Bog-standard embedded form.
These forms are first created inside MailerLite in order to get An embed code, which you can then place on your website to display it on specific pages.
Despite beginning super basic, the form designer lets you To customize everything in the form style, subjects, background, title, enter fields and, of course, the button.
Form text may also be edited directly, which Provides you a Opportunity To envision your own backup in real time.
It would’ve been nice to have Some templates here, but as you know, there is more to some form than simply its physical appearance.
Clicking the’Settings’ tab will allow you to configure the way the Form works, including adding extra fields and establishing a custom success page.
(There’s a GDPR compliance option. Sweet.)
And talking of the success webpage…
…MailerLite also lets you customize the default message, That can replace the embedded form also prevents users from redirecting.
Last but certainly not least, you Can check how your form screens on mobile by switching the toggle to reactive mode.
You won’t Have the Ability to make any design changes , but it makes Sense to test, nevertheless.
So that is an Summary of this Embedded form but as I said before, you may even create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the Vast Majority of the setup Procedure is identical, there are Still a few differences I’d love to point out.
Unlike embedded kinds, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most In depth choice, they do provide a good base to work from and the editor is at least as easy to use for this form kind.
Clicking the’E-commerce’ template takes me into a preview Before moving to the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new options under form types This time around:
Contemplating paid tools like Thrive Leads exist for ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to observe this amount of control over popup types.
And, as before, you can perform with the styling options to get it Matched up with your branding.
Last, you can choose the near Behavior of your form under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is that the X icon, but you can swap this out for A”No thanks” text choice, or have both.
This is where most email Marketing platforms will render you, but MailerLite has one more trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like most tools, you’ll find a summary of your campaign Statistics in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from campaign open and click info, Subscriber development, automation analytics, and kind signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you specific reporting for that effort.
This is where you’ll find a few statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading surroundings, email client and much more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary consumer…
…but in Case You really want To dig into the numbers, it is possible to click into individual areas of the report to get a more comprehensive breakdown.
You can find some real gems beneath These reports.
By Way of Example, the’View Email’ tab also shows a click map, so You can see exactly how your subscribers interacted to one another.
Reports for automations will also be Available under the’Automations’ tab, though I found these to be less enlightening than campaign reports.
Here’s a quick example:
Total, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting interface, and most will find the available statistics more than sufficient to fulfill their needs.
What is email advertising without a dash of automation?
For most reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this review.
The great news? If you have ever used a visual workflow builder, You’ll instantly feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, The automations interface is easy, clean and simple to navigate — something which certainly can not be said for each and every email advertising program.
After setting your trigger, you can Start adding steps to your workflow.
These measures can be anything from sending an email, including a Postpone, a bubble break, or an act, such as moving a subscriber or updating their records.
Here’s a simple workflow I put together, where readers Are unsubscribed if they do not open my email within 7 days.
There are countless Possibilities in regards to workflow automations like this, and MailerLite should not have any trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it is not quite as Feature-rich as something such as ActiveCampaign since it lacks a number of the conditional components. (Split, Go To, Goal, etc.. )
For example, there’s currently no automation for moving Subscribers directly into another automation.
That being said, most of these activities can Nevertheless Be achieved by moving Subscribers into different groups that activate new automation workflows. It’s simply much less effective…. yet.
Another matter of efficacy here is when generating new mails In the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email cube to The workflow, you will be asked to put in your subject line which appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking on the’Design email’ button will fire up the Editor:
Now, you’ll be temporarily Redirected to the typical campaign creation wizard, which I covered earlier in the critique.
This time, but once you’ve established your email, clicking on the ‘Done editing’ button will guide you straight back into the automations workflow rather than the usual sending options.
Finally, your email address will be Loaded into your automation.
A nice touch here is using a thumbnail preview of your Email inside your automation block, which means you can find an concept of what it contains at a glance.
While this process may seem like A grind on newspaper, it’s actually much faster than what I’m used to with other email advertising tools — ActiveCampaign being a fantastic example.
On the other hand, if you’ve come over from something like ConvertKit where The editor is loaded within the automations builder, you will likely find that this downgrade in performance.
It is quick enough for me, Personally, but I guess it is all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there’s 1 Kind of automation You will not find in MailerLite, also that I think it’s important to highlight.
The ability to trigger an automation (or measure ) based on the way Subscribers interact with all the pages on your website.
This kind of behavioral targeting only is not accessible MailerLite at this time, so if it’s something you use or intend to use, you may want to skip this one. Mailerlite Survey
The Price of MailerLite is no doubt among the tools biggest Selling things, and let’s face it, most of us love a fantastic deal.
For starters, they offer an infinite free plan that includes All features (including premium) for as many as 1,000 subscribers.
While there is some subtle Branding on your emails using this plan, it is still an amazing alternative for anyone starting out.
And what about the top programs?
It turns out, at around half of the Cost of the competition on average, MailerLite is by far one of the least expensive options on the industry. Plus, if you are ready to pay yearly, you are also able to get an even greater discount.
In fact, I haven’t been able to find anything that does exactly the Exact Same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of the few email advertising tools The (very crowded) industry in the last couple of decades, and that’s no simple feat.
While it’s not as quickly as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it performs exceptionally well at just about anything you can throw at it.
Overall, I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, speed and simplicity, and at a price point you’ll seriously struggle to beat.
Thinking of giving it a spin? Let us know how it works for you In the remarks. Mailerlite Survey
