Introduction Mailerlite Ecommerce
If I asked you to name an email Marketing tool, what could you say? Mailerlite Ecommerce
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?
Like many online businesses today, email marketing continues to be Dominated by the identical large players for the last decade. Which means they get promoted very heavily and achieve a lot of mindshare.
Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the market, causing long-time users to question their loyalties.

Like most email marketing providers Nowadays, you will need to Go through a review process before being able to properly use the software.
When you first register, you’ll be asked to complete your profile.
This includes information such as your organization name, site, Business, address, company size, record size and even the type of material you plan to send.
Then, you need to confirm your Website (or domain name).
This remains part of this acceptance process, and MailerLite will Simply inquire which email is related to that domain in order that they can email you a verification link.
As Soon as You’ve completed those Measures, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite staff will review your application, check your Website, and ascertain whether you are a good fit for their services.
(Quite simply, they are making sure you’re not a spammer/scammer)
As revealed above, you’ll still be Able to use the software to create campaigns and play with the features, but you won’t have the ability to send anything until accepted.
I was”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limit of 500 subscribers.
Here Is What the email said:
However, while these measures are not perfect for getting started, it Does help prevent unscrupulous users from damaging everybody’s deliverability.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll rely upon automations to handle Nearly all your email marketing.
(We’ll get to automations shortly, do not worry.)
But if it’s a brand new blog article, podcast, or timely Announcement, there is always a reason to send a more instant email.
That’s where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the new’Create Campaign’ will provide you several options.
– Regular effort: A Conventional broadcast email.
– A/B split campaign: Multiple email Variations, including subject line, from name and, yes, even email content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to readers who Don’t start your broadcast email, together with the option of changing the subject line and email articles.
– RSS effort: Produce a recurring campaign That sends fresh content to readers using your site’s RSS feed.
Aside from a few additional options, the Majority of these will follow The exact same step-by-step process of a normal effort.
So let’s walk you through it.
Once you click on to create your campaign, you’ll be requested to Select a favorite editor, whether that be the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
You can change to the Templates tab and select from among their pre-designed email templates — that will move you into the dragn’ drop editor .
At the time of writing, you’ll find 21 email templates to choose From which is a little on the low side, but the designs are super modern.
And, of course, if you would just Prefer to reuse a previous email, you can click on the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this instance, I will select the first template in the library.
The editor is easy to work with, Making viewing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also use the cubes in the sidebar to include different Types of content to your email, such as videos, merchandise columns, and societal links.
After making your changes, just click’Done Editing’ and you’ll Be carried to the recipients’ options where you can choose your groups or sections.
The tab also allows you To build segment-like rules on-the-fly, in case your targeting is not quite perfect.
Finally, before sending, you’ll get to the’Program’ screen.
This is where you control if your broadcast email should go Out, whether that is immediately, at a set time/date, or according to your subscribers time zones.
Impressive, right? Mailerlite Ecommerce
Handling Your Subscribers
Possessing granular control over your subscribers is arguably one of The most important aspects of any email advertising program now.
Because highly personalized efforts are necessary if You are searching to increase clicks, opens, and, most importantly, your own conversions.
And while most providers allow you to”label” subscribers in order To target them more effectively, MailerLite uses a slightly different approach.
When you start up your subscriber dash, you’ll see two Choices; Segments and Groups.
Segments are basically rules.
Your subscribers belong to a segment only when they fulfill the Specified principles, and are automatically inserted or removed accordingly.
Here is what setting up a rule looks like:
Notice how you can also combine Rules, in addition to an alternate rule when the first doesn’t exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The next tab is for classes, and despite the difference in title, These act much like your normal”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the name to’Tags’, but finally decided against it.)
Unlike Segments, Groups are updated manually or through an Automation rule — that we will get to in a moment — and they don’t have any value besides what you actually call them.
As you Begin to use this stage, you’ll begin to understand Where Segments and Groups are typically used, however, MailerLite offers a hand in case you’re uncertain:
Fundamentally, groups are much more of a Deliberate activity on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments allow you to lump multiple subscribers collectively according to a frequent denominator.
Somewhat confusing, I’ll admit… but I believe it is a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. Besides, they’re optional.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to customize your email copy.
You will notice that MailerLite has Already populated this region with their own areas, such as name, business, and country.
If You Would like to create your own custom fields, you can do this by Clicking the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV record of your readers along with Your custom field information in separate columns… or may easily add these fields to a forms which will only apply to prospective subscribers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test area I created and added into a form:
I will not go too much into the form Things here because I have an entire section on this below, but this is the strategy I would recommend if you wished to use this feature.
Again, as Soon as You’ve gathered your custom field data from fresh Subscribers, you are able to pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click the’Personalization’ drop down and choose your Customized field.
I’m barely scratching the surface Of what is possible with custom fields, but it is important that you understand this is a feature you may use.
Overall, it’s fair to state MailerLite has their subscriber Direction and personalization features on stage. Mailerlite Ecommerce
If you are not impressed with what you’ve seen up to Now, then perhaps The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After selecting’Landing Pages’ in the forms page, then you’ll be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template choice Is not winning any awards, it will offer a fantastic foundation to work from if, like the majority people, you do not have that natural eye for design.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, however They all ultimately do the same job; collect an email address.
This time, the editor will Provide you 17 building blocks to Further build or change your landing page.
Now, I’ve used my fair share of Visual page builders, and this is already better than a few dedicated alternatives *cough* WPBakery.
Together with the basic building blocks, you can use components like Hero sections, popup buttons, reviews and countdown timers.
No, it will not be replacing landing Page builders such as Thrive Architect or even LeadPagesanytime soon, but credit where credit due, this thing over-delivers on all three form types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite actually offers a Adequate pair of form building tools.
Also, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this exact same interface, so there’s a whole lot to cover here.
Let’s begin with your Bog-standard embedded form.
These forms are first created inside MailerLite so as to get An embed code, which you can then put on your website to show it on particular pages.
Despite beginning super basic, the form designer lets you To personalize everything in the form style, fields, background, name, enter fields and, clearly, the button.
Form text can also be edited directly, which gives you a Opportunity To visualize your backup in real time.
It would have been nice to have Some templates, but as you know, there is more to some form than simply its appearance.
Clicking on the’Settings’ tab will allow you to configure the way the Form functions, including adding additional fields and setting a custom success page.
(There is a GDPR compliance alternative. Sweet.)
And speaking of the success webpage…
…MailerLite also lets you customize the default message, That can replace the embedded kind also prevents users .
Last but surely not least, you Can check the way your form displays on cellular by shifting the toggle to responsive mode.
You won’t be able to make any design changes , but it makes Sense to test, nevertheless.
So that is an overview of this Embedded form but as I said before, you may even create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the Vast Majority of the installation process is identical, there are Still a few differences I’d like to point out.
Unlike embedded kinds, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most In depth selection, they do offer a fantastic foundation to work from and the editor is just as easy to use for this form type.
Clicking the’E-commerce’ template takes me into a preview Before moving to the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new options under form types Now around:
Contemplating paid tools such as Thrive Leads exist for both ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to observe this level of control over popup types.
And, like before, you can play with the styling options to get it Matched up with your own branding.
Finally, you can choose the near Behavior of your type under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is the X icon, but you can swap this out for A”No thanks” text choice, or have both.
This is where most email Marketing platforms will leave you, but MailerLite has one more trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your campaign Data in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from effort open and click info, Subscriber growth, automation analytics, and kind signups.
Clicking into any effort will Give you specific coverage for this effort.
This is where you’ll find a few statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading surroundings, email client and much more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary consumer…
…but if you really want To dig into the numbers, you can click into individual areas of the report for a more comprehensive breakdown.
You can find some real gems under These reports.
For example, the’View Mail’ tab also shows a click map, so You can see exactly how your readers interacted with your mails in relation to another.
Reports for automations are Available under the’Automations’ tab, although I found to be less insightful than effort reports.
Here’s a quick example:
Overall, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting interface, and most will get the available statistics more than sufficient to fulfill their demands.
What’s email advertising without a dash of automation?
For most reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this review.
The good news? If you have used a visual workflow builder, then You’ll immediately feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, That the automations interface is easy, clean and simple to navigate — something that certainly can’t be said for each and every email marketing program.
After establishing your trigger, you can begin adding steps to your workflow.
These measures can be anything from sending an email, including a Delay, a bubble break, or an action, such as transferring a contributor or updating their records.
Here’s a simple workflow I put together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed if they don’t open my email within seven days.
There are countless Possibilities in regards to workflow automations similar to this, and MailerLite should have no trouble with the huge majority of use cases.
Granted, it’s not quite as Feature-rich as something such as ActiveCampaign since it lacks some of the conditional components. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.)
For Instance, there’s now no automation for transferring Readers directly into a different automation.
That being said, the Majority of these actions can Nevertheless Be achieved by moving Subscribers into different classes that trigger new automation workflows. It is just much less efficient…. yet.
Another question of efficacy here is when generating new emails From the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email cube to The workflow, you’ll be asked to put in your subject line that then appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking the’Design email’ button will automatically fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be temporarily Redirected to the standard campaign creation wizard, which I covered earlier in the critique.
This time, however, once you’ve established your email, clicking on the ‘Done editing’ button will direct you back to the automations workflow instead of the usual sending options.
Ultimately, your email will be Loaded into your own automation.
A nice touch here is having a thumbnail preview of your Email inside your automation cube, so you can get an idea of what it contains at a glimpse.
While this procedure may seem like A grind on newspaper, it is really much quicker than what I’m used to with other email marketing tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something like ConvertKit where The editor is loaded inside the automations builder, you’ll likely find this a downgrade in functionality.
It’s fast enough for me, Personally, but I guess it’s all relative.
Before I wrap up this section, there’s 1 type of automation You will not find in MailerLite, also I think it’s very important to highlight.
The ability to trigger an automation (or measure ) based on the way Readers interact with all the pages on your website.
This Sort of behavioral targeting just is not accessible MailerLite at this time, so if it’s something you use or intend to utilize, you may want to skip this one. Mailerlite Ecommerce
The Price of MailerLite is undoubtedly among those tools largest Selling things, and let us face it, most of us love a good bargain.
For starters, they offer an unlimited free plan that includes All features (including premium) for up to 1,000 subscribers.
While There’s some subtle Branding in your emails using this program, it is still an amazing option for those starting out.
And what about the premium programs?
It turns out, at approximately half the Cost of this rivalry on average, MailerLite is undoubtedly among the least expensive options on the industry. Plus, if you are willing to pay yearly, you are also able to get a much better discount.
In Reality, I haven’t been able to find anything that does the same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of those few email marketing tools to disrupt The (very crowded) sector in the last couple of decades, and that’s no easy feat.
While it is not as fast as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it performs exceptionally well at virtually anything you can throw at it.
Overall, I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, speed and simplicity, and at a price point you will seriously struggle to conquer.
