Like most email advertising providers these days, You’ll Need to Go through a review process before being able to properly use the program.
When you first register, you’ll be asked to finish your profile.
This includes information such as your company name, site, Business, address, company size, list size and also the kind of content you intend to send.
Then, you need to verify your Site (or domain name).
This is still part of this approval process, and MailerLite will Simply inquire which email is related to this domain so they can email you a verification link.
Once you’ve completed these Measures, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite team will review your application, assess your Site, and ascertain whether you are a good fit for their service.
(In other words, they’re making sure you are not a spammer/scammer)
As shown above, you’ll still be Able to utilize the software to make campaigns and perform with the features, but you won’t be able to send anything until accepted.

Managing Your Clients

And while most providers Permit You to”tag” subscribers in order To target them more effectively, MailerLite utilizes a slightly different approach.
When you start up your subscriber dashboard, you’ll see two Options; Segments and Groups.
Segments are essentially principles.
Your subscribers belong to a segment only when they meet the Specified principles, and are automatically added or eliminated accordingly.

Notice the way you can even blend Principles, in addition to another rule if the first doesn’t exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The following tab is for classes, and despite the difference in name, These act much like your normal”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the name to’Tags’, but finally decided against it.)
Contrary to Segments, Groups are updated manually or through an Automation principle — which we will get to in a minute — and they have no value aside from what you call them.
As you Begin to use this stage, you’ll begin to understand At which Segments and Groups are typically used, however, MailerLite offers a hand in case you’re unsure:
Basically, groups are much more of a Deliberate activity on a per-subscriber basis, whereas Segments permit you to lump multiple subscribers collectively based on a common denominator.
Somewhat confusing, I will admit… but I believe it’s a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. In any case, they are optional.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to personalize your email copy.
You’ll notice that MailerLite has Already populated this region with their particular areas, such as name, company, and country.
If you want to create your own custom fields, you can do so by Clicking the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they really work?
You can either upload a CSV file of your subscribers together with Your custom field information in separate columns… or can simply add these fields to your forms which will only apply to prospective readers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test area I made and added to a form:
I will not go too much into the form Things here because I have a whole section on that below, but this is the strategy I’d recommend if you wanted to use this attribute.
Again, once you’ve collected your custom field information from fresh Readers, you can pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click on the’Personalization’ drop down and select your Custom field.
I am barely scratching the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it is important that you understand that this is a feature you can use.

If you are not impressed by what you have seen so far, then perhaps The page builder will tickle your fancy.
After choosing’Landing Pages’ in the forms page, then you will be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template choice Is not winning any awards, it does offer a great foundation to work from if, like most of us, you don’t have that natural eye for design.
I went ahead and chosen the’Lead Generation’ template, however They finally do the same job; accumulate an email address.
This time, the editor will give you 17 building blocks to Further construct or change your landing page.
Now, I have used my fair share of Visual site builders, and it is better than a few dedicated alternatives *cough* WPBakery.
Along with the basic building blocks, you can use elements like Hero sections, popup buttons, reviews and countdown timers.

Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email marketing tools, MailerLite actually Provides a Adequate set of form building tools.
Also, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this same interface, so there is a lot to cover .
Let’s start with your Bog-standard embedded form.
These forms are created inside MailerLite in order to get An embed code, which you can then place on your website to show it on particular pages.
Despite beginning super basic, the form designer lets you To personalize everything in the form style, subjects, background, title, enter fields and, of course, the button.
Form text may also be edited directly, which Provides you a chance To envision your own copy in real-time.
It would’ve been nice to have Some templates, but as you know, there’s more to some form than simply its appearance.

You won’t be able to make any layout changes here, but it makes Sense to test, nevertheless.
So that is an overview of this Embedded form but as I said before, you can even create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the majority of the setup Procedure is identical, there are A few differences I’d like to point out.
Unlike embedded forms, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most In depth selection, they do provide a fantastic foundation to work from and the editor is at least as easy to use for this form type.

Reporting & Analytics
Like most tools, you’ll find a summary of your effort Statistics in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from effort open and click info, Subscriber development, automation stats, and form signups.
Clicking into any effort will Give you specific reporting for that campaign.
This is where you’ll discover a few more advanced statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading surroundings, email client and more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary user…

Much like the rest of MailerLite, That the automations interface is easy, clean and simple to navigate — something that certainly can’t be said for each and every email marketing program.
After setting your trigger, you can Start adding measures to your workflow.
These steps can be anything from sending an email, including a Delay, a bubble break, or an action, such as moving a contributor or upgrading their records.
Here’s a simple workflow I set together, where readers Are unsubscribed when they do not open my email within 7 days.
There are innumerable Possibilities in regards to workflow automations like this, and MailerLite should not have any trouble with the huge majority of use cases.
Granted, it is not quite as Feature-rich as something such as ActiveCampaign since it lacks a number of the conditional elements. (Split, Go To, Goal, etc.)
For example, there’s currently no automation for transferring Subscribers directly into another automation.
That being said, the Majority of these activities can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into various classes that trigger new automation workflows. It is just not as efficient…. yet.
Another question of efficacy here is when creating new mails From the automation workflow builder.
After having an email cube to The workflow, you will be asked to put in your subject line that then appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking on the’Design email’ button will fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be briefly Redirected to the standard campaign creation wizard, which I covered earlier in the review.
This time, but once you’ve established your email, clicking the ‘Done editing’ button will direct you straight back to the automations workflow rather than the usual sending options.
Ultimately, your email will be Loaded into your automation.
A Wonderful touch here is having a thumbnail preview of your Email within your automation cube, which means you can find an idea about what it contains at a glimpse.
While this process may seem like A grind on newspaper, it’s actually much quicker than what I am used to with other email advertising tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you’ve come over from something such as ConvertKit where The editor is loaded inside the automations builder, so you will probably find that this downgrade in functionality.
It is fast enough for me, Personally, but I guess it is all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there’s one type of automation You won’t find in MailerLite, also I think it’s important to highlight.
The ability to activate an automation (or measure ) based on how Readers interact with the pages on your site.
This kind of behavioral targeting only is not available in MailerLite right now, so if it’s something you use or plan to utilize, you might want to skip this one. Mailerlite Drip Campaign
The cost of MailerLite is no doubt among the tools largest Selling points, and let us face it, we all love a fantastic bargain.
For starters, they offer an unlimited free plan that includes All features (including premium) for as many as 1,000 subscribers.
While there is some subtle Branding on your emails using this program, it is still an amazing option for anyone starting out.
And what about the top programs?
It turns out, at approximately half of the Cost of this rivalry generally, MailerLite is by far one of the least expensive options available on the industry. Plus, if you’re willing to pay yearly, you are also able to get an even better discount.
In fact, I have not been able to locate anything that does exactly the same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is among those email advertising tools to disrupt The (very crowded) industry in the last couple of years, which is no simple feat.
While it is not as fast as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it works exceptionally well at just about anything you can throw at it.
I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, simplicity and speed, and all at a price point you’ll seriously struggle to conquer.
