Intro Mailerlite Authentication
When I asked you to name an email Marketing tool, what could you say? Mailerlite Authentication
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?
Like many online businesses now, email marketing has been Dominated by the same large players for the last decade. Which means that they get promoted very heavily and accomplish a great deal of mindshare.
Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the marketplace, causing long-time customers to question their loyalties.
MailerLite has done precisely that.
So now, in this short article, I’ll be ripping MailerLite from limb To limb to find out if it really stands its ground against the big boys…

Like most email advertising providers these days, You’ll Need to Go through a review process before being able to correctly use the program.
When you first register, you’ll be asked to complete your profile.
This includes information like your organization name, website, Business, address, business size, record size and even the kind of material you intend to send.
Then, you need to verify your Site (or domain name).
This remains part of this acceptance process, and MailerLite will Simply ask which email is related to that domain in order that they can email you a confirmation link.
As Soon as You’ve completed those Steps, you ought to wait it out.
The MailerLite team will review your application, check your Site, and determine whether you’re a good match for their services.
(In other words, they are making sure you’re not a spammer/scammer)
As shown above, you’ll still be Able to utilize the software to make campaigns and play with the features, but you will not have the ability to send anything until approved.
I had been”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limit of 500 subscribers.
Here Is What the email said:
However, while these steps aren’t perfect for getting started, it Does help stop malicious users from hurting everyone else’s deliverability.
If you are anything like me, you’ll rely upon automations to handle The majority of your email marketing.
(We’ll get to automations shortly, don’t worry.)
But if it’s a new blog post, podcast, or timely Announcement, there is always some excuse to send a more immediate email.
That is where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the brand new’Produce Campaign’ will give you several options.
– Regular effort: A Conventional broadcast email.
– A/B split effort: Multiple email Variations, including subject line, from name and, yes, even email content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to readers who Don’t start your broadcast email, together with the option of changing the subject line and email articles.
– RSS effort: Produce a recurring campaign That sends fresh content to subscribers using your site’s RSS feed.
Apart from a few additional options, most of these will follow The exact same step-by-step procedure of a normal campaign.
So let us walk you through it.
As Soon as You click to create your campaign, you’ll be requested to Select a favorite editor, whether that be the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
You can switch to the Templates tab and choose from one of their pre-designed email templates — that will move you to the dragn’ drop editor .
In the time of writing, there are 21 email templates to choose From which is a little on the low side, but the layouts are super contemporary.
And, of course, if you would just Like to reuse a previous email, you can click on the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this example, I’ll choose the first template in the library.
The editor is easy to use, Which makes customizing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also use the blocks in the sidebar to include different Types of content to your email, such as videos, merchandise columns, and societal connections.
After making your adjustments, just click’Done Editing’ and you will Be carried to the recipients’ choices where you are able to choose your classes or segments.
The advanced tab also allows you To build segment-like rules on-the-fly, in the event your targeting is not quite perfect.
Finally, right before sending, you’ll get into the’Schedule’ screen.
This is where you control if your broadcast email should go Out, whether that is instantly, at a set time/date, or in accordance with your readers time zones.
Impressive, right? Mailerlite Authentication
Handling Your Clients
Possessing granular control over your readers is arguably among The most important aspects of any email marketing program now.
Because highly personalized campaigns are necessary if You’re searching to increase opens, clicks, and, most importantly, your conversions.
And while most providers allow you to”tag” subscribers in order To target them more effectively, MailerLite uses a slightly different approach.
When you open up your subscriber dashboard, you’ll see two Choices; Segments and Groups.
Segments are essentially principles.
Your subscribers belong to a segment only when they meet the Specified principles, and are automatically inserted or removed accordingly.
Here is what establishing a rule looks like:
Notice the way you can also combine Principles, as well as an alternate rule if the first does not exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The following tab is for groups, and also the difference in title, These act much like your normal”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the name to’Tags’, but finally decided against it.)
Contrary to Segments, Groups are updated manually or via an Automation rule — which we’ll get into in a minute — and they don’t have any value aside from what you call them.
As you Begin to use this platform, you’ll begin to understand Where Segments and Groups are typically used, however, MailerLite offers a hand in case you’re uncertain:
Fundamentally, groups are much more of a Deliberate activity on a per-subscriber basis, whereas Segments allow you to bulge multiple contributors collectively according to a common denominator.
Somewhat confusing, I will admit… but I feel it is a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. In any case, they’re optional.
Finally, the’Fields’ tab is used to personalize your email copy.
You’ll notice that MailerLite has Already populated this region with their own fields, such as title, business, and country.
If you want to create your own custom fields, you can do so by Clicking on the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV file of your readers together with Your custom field data in separate columns… or can easily add these fields to a forms which will only apply to future readers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I made and added into a form:
I won’t go too much into the shape Stuff here since I have a whole section on this below, but this is the approach I would recommend if you wished to use this attribute.
Again, once you’ve gathered your custom field information from fresh Subscribers, you can pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click on the’Personalization’ drop down and choose your Custom field.
I’m barely scraping the surface Of what is possible with custom fields, but it’s important to understand this is a feature you can use.
Overall, it is reasonable to say MailerLite has their subscriber Management and personalization features on point. Mailerlite Authentication
If you are not impressed by what you’ve seen so far, then perhaps The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After choosing’Landing Pages’ in the forms page, you’ll be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template choice Is not winning any awards, but it will offer a fantastic foundation to work from if, for example the majority of us, you do not have that natural eye for design.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, though They finally do the same task; accumulate an email address.
This time, the editor will Provide you 17 building blocks to Further construct or alter your landing page.
Now, I’ve used my fair share of Visual page builders, and this is already better than some dedicated solutions *Infection * WPBakery.
Together with the basic building blocks, you can use elements like Hero sections, popup buttons, testimonials and countdown timers.
It will not be replacing landing Page builders such as Thrive Architect or LeadPagesanytime shortly, but credit where credit due, this thing over-delivers on all 3 kind types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite really offers a Decent set of type building tools.
Also, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this same interface, so there’s a lot to cover .
Let us start with your Bog-standard embedded type.
These forms are created inside MailerLite so as to get An embed code, which you can then put on your site to display it on specific pages.
Despite starting off super basic, the form designer lets you To personalize everything from the form style, fields, background, title, enter fields and, of course, the button.
Form text may also be edited directly, which gives you a Opportunity To visualize your copy in real time.
It would have been nice to have Some templates, but as you know, there is more to a form than simply its physical appearance.
Clicking on the’Settings’ tab will Make It Possible for you to configure how the Form works, such as adding additional fields and establishing a custom success page.
(There’s a GDPR compliance option. Sweet.)
And speaking of the success webpage…
…MailerLite also lets you customize the default message, That can replace the embedded kind and prevents users from redirecting.
Last but certainly not least, you Can check the way your form displays on mobile by switching the toggle to responsive mode.
You won’t Have the Ability to make any design changes , but it makes Sense to test, nevertheless.
So that is an Summary of the Embedded form but like I said before, you can also create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the Vast Majority of the setup Procedure is identical, there are Still a few differences I’d love to point out.
Unlike embedded forms, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most Comprehensive choice, they do provide a fantastic base to work from and the editor is just as easy to use with this form type.
Clicking on the’E-commerce’ template takes me into a preview Before moving to the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new options under form types This time around:
Considering paid tools like Thrive Leads exist for ribbons and slide-in forms, it is pretty impressive to see this level of control over popup forms.
And, like before, you can play the styling options to get it Matched with your branding.
Finally, you can choose the near Behaviour of your form under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is that the X icon, but you can swap this out for A”No thanks” text option, or have .
This is where most email Marketing platforms will render you, but MailerLite has one more trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your campaign Data in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from campaign open and click info, Subscriber development, automation analytics, and kind signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you special coverage for that campaign.
This is where you’ll find some statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading surroundings, email client and much more.
This should be plenty of Information for the average user…
…but in Case You really want To dig into the numbers, it is possible to click into different areas of the report to get a more detailed breakdown.
You can find some real gems under These reports.
By Way of Example, the’View Email’ tab also shows a click map, so It’s possible to see how your subscribers interacted to one another.
Reports for automations are Available under the’Automations’ tab, even although I found to be less insightful than effort reports.
Here’s a quick example:
Overall, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting port, and many will find the available statistics more than sufficient to meet their needs.
What is email advertising with no dashboard of automation?
For many reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could easily make or break this review.
The great news? If you’ve used a visual workflow builder, You’ll instantly feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, The automations interface is simple, clean and easy to navigate — something which certainly can not be said for every email marketing program.
After setting your trigger, you can Start adding steps to your workflow.
These measures could be anything from sending an email, adding a Delay, a bubble break, or an act, such as moving a subscriber or updating their records.
Here’s a straightforward workflow I put together, where readers Are unsubscribed when they don’t open my email within seven days.
There are countless Possibilities when it comes to workflow automations similar to this, and MailerLite ought to have no trouble with the huge majority of use cases.
Granted, it is not quite as Feature-rich as something like ActiveCampaign since it lacks a number of the conditional components. (Split, Go To, Goal, etc.)
For example, there’s currently no automation for moving Subscribers directly into another automation.
That being said, the Majority of these actions can Nevertheless Be achieved by moving Subscribers into various groups that trigger new automation workflows. It’s simply much less effective…. yet.
Another matter of efficiency here is when generating new emails From the automation workflow builder.
After having an email block to The workflow, you’ll be asked to add your topic line which appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking on the’Design email’ button will fire up the Editor:
Now, you’ll be temporarily Redirected to the standard campaign creation wizard, which I covered earlier in the review.
This time, but as Soon as You’ve established your email, clicking on the ‘Done editing’ button will guide you back into the automations workflow rather than the usual sending options.
Finally, your email address will probably be Loaded into your own automation.
A nice touch here is using a thumbnail preview of your Email within your automation block, so it’s possible to get an concept about what it contains at a glance.
While this process may seem like A grind on paper, it is really much quicker than what I’m used to with other email marketing tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you’ve come over from something such as ConvertKit where The editor is loaded inside the automations builder, so you will likely find this a downgrade in functionality.
It is quick enough for me, Personally, but I guess it’s all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there is 1 type of automation You won’t find in MailerLite, and I think that it’s important to highlight.
The ability to activate an automation (or step) based on how Subscribers interact with the webpages on your website.
This kind of behavioral targeting just isn’t available in MailerLite right now, so if it’s something you use or intend to use, you may want to skip this one. Mailerlite Authentication
The cost of MailerLite is one of those tools biggest Selling points, and let us face it, most of us love a fantastic deal.
For starters, they offer an infinite free plan that includes All features (including premium) to get up to 1,000 subscribers.
While There’s some subtle Branding in your mails using this program, it’s still an amazing alternative for those starting out.
And what about the top programs?
It turns out, at approximately half the Cost of this rivalry on average, MailerLite is by far among the cheapest options on the market. Additionally, if you are ready to pay annually, you can also get an even better discount.
In Reality, I haven’t been able to locate anything that does the same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of those email advertising tools to interrupt The (very crowded) sector in the last couple of years, which is no simple feat.
While it is not as fast as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it works exceptionally well at just about anything you can throw at it.
All in all, I find MailerLite strikes the perfect balance Between flexibility, speed and simplicity, and at a price point you will seriously struggle to conquer.
Thinking about giving it a twist? Let us know how it works for you From the comments. Mailerlite Authentication
