Intro Mailerlite And Woocommerce
If I asked you to name an email Marketing instrument, what could you say? Mailerlite And Woocommerce
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?
Like most online industries now, email marketing has been Dominated by the same big players for the last decade. Which means they get encouraged very deeply and achieve a lot of mindshare.
Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the market, inducing long-time customers to question their loyalties.
MailerLite has done precisely that.
So today, in this review, I will be ripping MailerLite from limb To limb to see whether it really stands its ground against the big boys…

Like most email advertising providers Nowadays, you will need to Go through a review process before being able to correctly use the program.
When you first sign up, you’ll be asked to complete your profile.
This includes information such as your organization name, website, Industry, address, company size, list size and also the kind of content you intend to send.
Then, you need to confirm your Site (or domain ).
This is still part of this acceptance process, and MailerLite will Simply ask which email is associated to that domain in order that they can email you a verification link.
Once you’ve completed these Measures, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite team will review your application, assess your Site, and determine whether you are a fantastic match for their service.
(Quite simply, they are making sure you’re not a spammer/scammer)
As shown above, you’ll nevertheless be Able to utilize the software to create campaigns and perform with the features, but you won’t have the ability to send anything until accepted.
I had been”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limit of 500 subscribers.
Here’s what the email said:
But while these measures aren’t perfect for getting started, it Does help prevent unscrupulous users from damaging everyone else’s deliverability.
If you are anything like me, you’ll rely upon automations to Deal with The majority of your email advertising.
(We’ll get to automations shortly, do not worry.)
But whether it’s a brand new blog article, podcast, or timely Announcement, there’s always some excuse to send a more immediate email.
That is where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the brand new’Produce Campaign’ will provide you several options.
– Regular effort: A Conventional broadcast email.
– A/B split campaign: Multiple email Versions, such as subject line, from name and, yes, even email content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to readers who Don’t start your broadcast email, together with the option of changing the subject line and email articles.
– RSS campaign: Create a recurring campaign That sends fresh content to readers using your site’s RSS feed.
Aside from a few added options, the Majority of these will follow The exact same step-by-step process of a standard effort.
So let us walk you through it.
As Soon as You click to create your effort, you’ll be requested to Pick a preferred editor, whether that’s the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
You can switch to the Templates tab and choose from one of their pre-designed email templates — that will move you into the dragn’ drop editor .
At the time of writing, there are 21 email templates to select From which is a little on the low side, however, the layouts are super modern.
And, of course, if you’d just Prefer to reuse a previous email, you can click the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this example, I will select the first template from the library.
The editor is easy to use, Making customizing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also utilize the blocks in the sidebar to include different Kinds of content to your email, such as videos, product columns, and societal links.
After making your adjustments, simply click’Done Editing’ and you’ll Be taken to the recipients’ options where you are able to select your groups or segments.
The advanced tab also allows one To develop segment-like rules on-the-fly, in the event your targeting isn’t quite perfect.
Finally, right before sending, you’ll get into the’Program’ screen.
This is where you control if your broadcast email should go Out, if that’s immediately, at a set time/date, or according to your subscribers time zones.
Impressive, right? Mailerlite And Woocommerce
Handling Your Subscribers
Having granular control over your subscribers is arguably among The most essential aspects of any email marketing software now.
Because highly personalized campaigns are necessary if You are searching to increase clicks, opens, and, most importantly, your own conversions.
And while many providers allow you to”label” subscribers in order To target them more effectively, MailerLite utilizes a slightly different approach.
When you start up your subscriber dash, you’ll notice two Options; Segments and Groups.
Segments are essentially rules.
Your readers belong to a section only when they fulfill the Specified principles, and are automatically added or removed accordingly.
Here is what setting up a rule looks like:
Notice how you can also combine Rules, as well as another rule when the first doesn’t exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The following tab is for groups, and despite the difference in name, These act much like your normal”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the title to’Tags’, but finally decided against it.)
Unlike Segments, Groups are updated manually or through an Automation rule — which we’ll get into in a minute — and they don’t have any value besides what you actually call them.
As you start to use this platform, you’ll begin to understand At which Segments and Groups are generally used, but MailerLite delivers a hand in case you’re uncertain:
Basically, groups are more of a Deliberate action on a per-subscriber basis, whereas Segments allow you to lump multiple subscribers together according to a common denominator.
Somewhat confusing, I’ll admit… but I believe it is a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. Besides, they’re optional.
Finally, the’Fields’ tab is used to customize your email copy.
You will notice that MailerLite has Already populated this area with their own fields, such as title, company, and nation.
If you want to create your own custom fields, you can do this by Clicking on the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV file of your subscribers along with Your custom field data in distinct columns… or can simply add these fields to your forms which will only apply to future readers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I made and added to a form:
I will not go too much into the form Stuff here since I have an entire section on this below, but this is the approach I’d recommend if you wished to use this feature.
Again, once you’ve collected your custom field information from fresh Readers, you can pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click on the’Personalization’ drop down and choose your Customized field.
I am barely scratching the surface Of what is possible with custom fields, but it’s important that you know that this is a feature you can use.
Overall, it is reasonable to say MailerLite has their subscriber Management and personalization features on stage. Mailerlite And Woocommerce
If you are not impressed by what you’ve seen so far, then maybe The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After selecting’Landing Pages’ in the forms page, then you will be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template selection Is not winning any awards, but it does offer a fantastic base to work from if, for example most people, you don’t have that pure eye for design.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, though They ultimately do the identical task; accumulate an email address.
This time, the editor will Provide you 17 building blocks to Further construct or alter your landing page.
Now, I have used my fair share of Visual page builders, and this is already better than some dedicated alternatives *cough* WPBakery.
Along with the basic building blocks, you can use components like Hero sections, popup buttons, testimonials and countdown timers.
It won’t be replacing landing Page builders like Thrive Architect or LeadPagesanytime shortly, but credit where credit due, this item over-delivers on all three kind types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite actually Provides a Decent set of form building tools.
Not only that, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this exact same interface, so there is a lot to cover here.
Let us begin with your Bog-standard embedded form.
These forms are created inside MailerLite so as to get An embed code, which you can then place on your site to show it on specific pages.
Despite starting off super basic, the form designer lets you To personalize everything from the form style, subjects, background, title, input fields and, clearly, the button.
Form text can also be edited directly, which Provides you a Opportunity To envision your own backup in real-time.
It would have been nice to have Some templates here, but as you know, there is more to a form than simply its physical appearance.
Clicking on the’Settings’ tab will Make It Possible for you to configure the way the Form functions, such as adding extra fields and setting a custom success page.
(There’s a GDPR compliance option. Sweet.)
And speaking of the success page…
…MailerLite also lets you customize the default message, That will replace the embedded form and prevents users from redirecting.
Last but surely not least, you Can check the way your form displays on mobile by shifting the toggle to reactive mode.
You won’t be able to make any layout changes here, but it makes Sense to check, nevertheless.
So that’s an overview of the Embedded form but as I said before, you may even create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the majority of the installation Procedure is identical, you will find Still a few differences I’d love to point out.
Unlike embedded kinds, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most In depth selection, they do offer a good foundation to work from and the editor is just as simple to use for this form kind.
Clicking the’E-commerce’ template requires me into a preview Before moving into the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are a few new choices under form types This time around:
Considering paid programs such as Thrive Leads exist for both ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to see this amount of control over popup types.
And, like before, you can play the styling options to get it Matched with your branding.
Finally, you can choose the close Behavior of your type under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is that the X icon, but you can swap out this for A”No thanks” text choice, or have both.
That is where most email Marketing platforms will render you, but MailerLite has one more trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your effort Statistics in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from effort open and click data, Subscriber growth, automation stats, and form signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you specific reporting for that effort.
This is where you’ll find a few statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading surroundings, email client and more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary user…
…but in Case You really want To dig into the numbers, it is possible to click into different areas of this report for a more comprehensive breakdown.
You can find some real gems under These reports.
For example, the’View Email’ tab also shows a click map, so It’s possible to see precisely how your readers interacted to another.
Reports for automations are also Available under the’Automations’ tab, even although I found these to be less enlightening than campaign reports.
Here’s a quick example:
Overall, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting interface, and many will get the available statistics more than enough to meet their needs.
What’s email marketing with no dashboard of automation?
For most reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this particular review.
The great news? If you have ever used a visual workflow builder, You’ll immediately feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, That the automations interface is simple, clean and simple to navigate — something which certainly can’t be said for each and every email marketing program.
After establishing your trigger, you can Start adding measures to your workflow.
These measures can be anything from sending an email, including a Postpone, a bubble break, or an act, like moving a subscriber or updating their records.
Here’s a straightforward workflow I set together, where readers Are unsubscribed if they don’t open my email within seven days.
There are countless Possibilities in regards to workflow automations like this, and MailerLite should not have any trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it’s not quite as Feature-rich as something such as ActiveCampaign because it lacks some of the conditional components. (Split, Go To, Goal, etc.)
For example, there’s now no automation for moving Subscribers directly into a different automation.
That being said, most of these actions can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into different classes that trigger new automation workflows. It is just much less effective…. yet.
Another matter of efficacy here is when generating new mails In the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email block to The workflow, you’ll be asked to add your topic line that appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking on the’Design email’ button will automatically fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be temporarily Redirected to the typical campaign creation wizard, which I covered previously in the review.
This time, however, as Soon as You’ve created your email, clicking on the ‘Done editing’ button will guide you back to the automations workflow instead of the usual sending alternatives.
Ultimately, your email address will be Loaded into your own automation.
A nice touch here is having a thumbnail preview of your Email within your automation cube, so it’s possible to find an concept about what it contains at a glimpse.
While this procedure may seem like A grind on newspaper, it is actually much faster than what I’m utilized to with other email advertising tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something such as ConvertKit where The editor is loaded inside the automations builder, you will probably find this a downgrade in performance.
It is fast enough for me, Personally, but I guess it is all relative.
Before I wrap up this section, there is one type of automation You will not find in MailerLite, also that I think it’s important to highlight.
The ability to trigger an automation (or step) based on how Subscribers interact with all the webpages on your site.
This kind of behavioral targeting only is not accessible MailerLite right now, so if it’s something you use or plan to utilize, you may want to skip this one. Mailerlite And Woocommerce
The cost of MailerLite is no doubt among the tools largest Selling things, and let us face it, we all love a good deal.
For starters, they offer an unlimited free plan that includes All features (including premium) for up to 1,000 subscribers.
While There’s some subtle Branding in your mails using this plan, it’s still an wonderful option for those starting out.
And what about the top programs?
It ends up, at around half the Price of the rivalry generally, MailerLite is undoubtedly one of the cheapest options on the market. Plus, if you are ready to pay yearly, you are also able to get a much better discount.
In fact, I haven’t been able to find anything that does exactly the same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of those email advertising tools The (very crowded) sector in the last couple of decades, and that’s no easy feat.
While it’s not as fast as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it works exceptionally well at virtually anything you can throw at it.
All in all, I find MailerLite strikes the perfect balance Between flexibility, speed and simplicity, and all at a price point you will seriously struggle to conquer.
