If I asked you to name an email Marketing tool, what could you say? Lites Login
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?

Like most email advertising providers Nowadays, You’ll Need to Go through a review process before being able to properly use the software.
When you first sign up, you’ll be asked to finish your profile.
This includes information such as your organization name, website, Industry, address, company size, record size and even the type of content you plan to send.
Then, you need to confirm your Website (or domain ).
This remains part of the acceptance process, and MailerLite will Simply ask which email is associated to that domain so they can email you a confirmation link.
Once you’ve completed these Measures, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite staff will review your application, check your Site, and ascertain whether you are a good fit for their service.
(In other words, they’re making sure you are not a spammer/scammer)
As revealed above, you’ll still be Able to use the software to make campaigns and play with the features, but you will not be able to send anything until approved.
I had been”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limit of 500 subscribers.
Here’s what the email said:
However, while these steps are not ideal for getting started, it Does help stop malicious users from damaging everyone else’s deliverability.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll rely on automations to Deal with The majority of your email marketing.
(We will get to automations shortly, don’t worry.)
But whether it is a brand new blog post, podcast, or timely Announcement, there’s always a reason to send a more immediate email.
That is where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the brand new’Create Campaign’ will give you several choices.
– Regular campaign: A traditional broadcast email.
– A/B split effort: Multiple email Versions, such as subject line, from title and, yes, even email content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to subscribers who Do not start your broadcast email, together with the choice of altering the subject line and email content.
– RSS campaign: Create a recurring campaign That sends fresh content to subscribers using your site’s RSS feed.
Aside from a few additional choices, the Majority of these will follow Exactly the same step-by-step process of a standard effort.
So let’s walk you through it.
As Soon as You click to create your campaign, you’ll be requested to Select a favorite editor, whether that be the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
You can switch to the Templates tab and select from one of their pre-designed email templates — which will move you to the dragn’ drop editor by default.
At the time of writing, there are 21 email templates to select From which is a little on the low side, however, the designs are super contemporary.
And, of course, if you would just Like to reuse a previous email, you can click the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this example, I will choose the first template in the library.
The editor is easy to work with, Making customizing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also use the cubes in the sidebar to add distinct Types of articles to your email, including videos, merchandise columns, and societal connections.
After making your changes, simply click’Done Editing’ and you’ll Be taken to the recipients’ choices where you can select your groups or segments.
The advanced tab also allows you To develop segment-like rules , in case your targeting isn’t quite right.
Finally, right before sending, then you’ll get to the’Schedule’ screen.
This is where you control when your broadcast email should go Out, whether that is instantly, at a set time/date, or according to your subscribers time zones.
Impressive, right? Lites Login
Managing Your Subscribers
Having granular control over your subscribers is arguably among The most important aspects of any email advertising program now.
Because highly personalized efforts Are Essential if You’re searching to increase clicks, opens, and, most importantly, your own conversions.
And while many providers allow you to”tag” subscribers in order To target them more effectively, MailerLite uses a slightly different strategy.
When you start up your subscriber dashboard, you’ll notice two Choices; Segments and Groups.
Segments are essentially rules.
Your readers belong to a section only when they fulfill the Specified rules, and will be automatically inserted or eliminated so.
Here’s what establishing a rule looks like:
Notice the way you can even blend Principles, as well as an alternate rule when the first does not exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The next tab is for groups, and also the difference in name, These behave much like your usual”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the title to’Tags’, but ultimately decided against it)
Unlike Segments, Groups are upgraded manually or through an Automation rule — that we will get to in a minute — and they have no value besides what you call them.
As you Begin to use this platform, you’ll begin to understand Where Segments and Groups are typically used, however, MailerLite offers a hand in case you’re unsure:
Fundamentally, groups are much more of a Deliberate activity on a per-subscriber basis, whereas Segments allow you to lump multiple subscribers collectively based on a frequent denominator.
A tad confusing, I’ll admit… but I feel it is a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. In any case, they are discretionary.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to personalize your email copy.
You will notice that MailerLite has Already populated this region with their own areas, such as name, company, and country.
If You Would like to create your own custom fields, you can do this by Clicking on the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV file of your subscribers along with Your custom field data in separate columns… or can easily add these fields to your types which will only apply to prospective subscribers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I created and added to a form:
I will not go too much into the shape Stuff here because I have a whole section on this below, but this is the strategy I would recommend if you wanted to use this feature.
Again, as Soon as You’ve collected your custom field information from new Subscribers, you can pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click the’Personalization’ drop down and select your Custom field.
I am barely scratching the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it’s important to understand that this is a feature you can use.
Overall, it is fair to state MailerLite has their subscriber Management and personalization features on stage. Lites Login
If you are not impressed by what you have seen up to Now, then perhaps The page builder will tickle your fancy.
After choosing’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, you’ll be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template choice Is not winning any awards, but it will offer a fantastic foundation to work from if, like most people, you do not have that pure eye for design.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, though They finally do the same task; collect an email address.
This time, the editor will give you 17 building blocks to Further construct or change your landing page.
Now, I’ve used my fair share of Visual site builders, and this is better than a few dedicated alternatives *cough* WPBakery.
Together with the fundamental building blocks, you can use components like Hero sections, popup buttons, testimonials and countdown timers.
It won’t be replacing landing Page builders like Thrive Architect or even LeadPagesanytime shortly, but credit where credit due, this item over-delivers on all three form types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email marketing tools, MailerLite actually offers a Decent set of type building tools.
Not only that, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this same interface, so there’s a whole lot to cover here.
Let us start with your Bog-standard embedded form.
These forms are first created inside MailerLite in order to get An embed code, which you can then place on your website to display it on specific pages.
Despite beginning super fundamental, the form designer allows you To personalize everything in the kind style, subjects, background, title, input fields and, of course, the button.
Form text may also be edited directly, which gives you a chance To envision your own backup in real time.
It would’ve been nice to have Some templates here, but as you know, there’s more to some form than simply its physical appearance.
Clicking the’Settings’ tab will Make It Possible for you to configure the way the Form works, including adding additional fields and establishing a custom success page.
(There’s even a GDPR compliance alternative. Sweet.)
And talking of the success webpage…
…MailerLite also enables you to customize the default message, That will replace the embedded form and prevents users .
Last but certainly not least, you Can assess how your form screens on cellular by shifting the toggle to reactive mode.
You won’t be able to make any layout changes , but it makes Sense to check, nevertheless.
So that is an overview of this Embedded form but as I said before, you can also create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the Vast Majority of the setup Procedure is identical, there are Still a few differences I’d love to point out.
Unlike embedded forms, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most In depth selection, they do offer a fantastic base to work from and the editor is at least as easy to use with this form kind.
Clicking the’E-commerce’ template requires me to a preview Before moving into the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new choices under form types Now around:
Considering paid tools such as Thrive Leads exist for both ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to observe this amount of control over popup forms.
And, as before, you can play with the styling options to get it Matched up with your own branding.
Finally, you can Select the near Behavior of your form under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is that the X icon, but you can swap out this for A”No thanks” text option, or have .
That is really where most email Marketing platforms will leave you, but MailerLite has one more trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your effort Statistics in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from effort open and click data, Subscriber development, automation stats, and kind signups.
Clicking into any effort will Give you specific coverage for that campaign.
This is where you’ll find a few more advanced statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, studying surroundings, email client and much more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary consumer…
…but if you really want To dig into the numbers, you can click into individual areas of the report for a more detailed breakdown.
You can find some real gems beneath These reports.
By Way of Example, the’View Email’ tab also shows a click map, so You can see exactly how your readers interacted with your mails in relation to one another.
Reports for automations will also be Accessible under the’Automations’ tab, even although I found to be less insightful than effort reports.
Here’s a Fast example:
Overall, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting interface, and many will find the available data more than enough to meet their demands.
What is email advertising with no dashboard of automation?
For many reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this particular review.
The good news? If you’ve ever used a visual workflow builder, then You’ll immediately feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, That the automations interface is simple, clean and easy to navigate — something which certainly can’t be said for each and every email marketing program.
After establishing your trigger, you can begin adding measures to your workflow.
These steps can be anything from sending an email, including a Postpone, a conditional split, or an act, like moving a contributor or updating their records.
Here’s a simple workflow I put together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed if they do not open my email within 7 days.
There are innumerable Possibilities in regards to workflow automations like this, and MailerLite should not have any trouble with the huge majority of use cases.
Granted, it is not quite as Feature-rich as something such as ActiveCampaign because it lacks some of the conditional elements. (Split, Go To, Goal, etc.. )
For Instance, there’s now no automation for transferring Readers directly into a different automation.
That being said, the Majority of these actions can Nevertheless Be achieved by moving Subscribers into different classes that activate new automation workflows. It’s simply not as effective…. yet.
Another question of efficacy here is when generating new mails In the automation workflow builder.
After having an email cube to The workflow, you’ll be asked to put in your subject line that appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking the’Design email’ button will fire up the Editor:
Now, you’ll be briefly Redirected to the typical campaign creation wizard, which I covered earlier in the critique.
This time, but as Soon as You’ve established your email, clicking the ‘Done editing’ button will direct you straight back to the automations workflow rather than the usual sending options.
Ultimately, your email will be Loaded into your automation.
A Wonderful touch here is using a thumbnail preview of your Email within your automation block, which means it’s possible to get an concept about what it contains at a glimpse.
While this process may seem like A grind on newspaper, it is really much faster than what I am used to with other email marketing tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something like ConvertKit where The editor is loaded inside the automations builder, you will likely find this a downgrade in functionality.
It is quick enough for me, Personally, however I guess it’s all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there’s 1 Kind of automation You won’t find in MailerLite, also I think that it’s important to highlight.
The ability to trigger an automation (or measure ) based on the way Subscribers interact with all the webpages on your website.
This kind of behavioral targeting only is not accessible MailerLite at this time, so if it’s something you use or plan to utilize, you may want to skip this one. Lites Login
The cost of MailerLite is no doubt one of the tools largest Selling points, and let’s face it, most of us love a good bargain.
For starters, they offer an infinite free plan that includes All features (including premium) for as many as 1,000 subscribers.
While There’s some subtle Branding on your emails using this plan, it is still an amazing option for anyone starting out.
And what about the top programs?
It ends up, at approximately half of the Cost of the rivalry generally, MailerLite is by far among the cheapest options available on the market. Additionally, if you’re willing to pay annually, you are also able to get an even better discount.
In Reality, I have not been able to locate anything that does the same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of those email advertising tools The (very crowded) industry in recent years, which is no easy feat.
While it’s not as fast as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it works exceptionally well at just about anything you can throw at it.
I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, speed and simplicity, and all at a price point you’ll seriously struggle to beat.
