Landing page Builder
Online advertising campaigns which make use of landing pages will usually create far more leads if, rather than simply directing people to some (cluttered!) Site, they point users to appealing’squeeze pages’ containing clear information and a tidy, well-designed data capture form.
Getresponse provides something very useful in this respect that most of its competitors don’t: a landing page founder (and one that’s mobile-friendly to boot).
Products like Campaign Monitor and Aweber require that you make use of a third party (and paid-for) landing page generating tool like Unbounce or Instapage; Mailchimp recently introduced some landing page functionality but it’s yet to become as sophisticated at Getresponse’s.
But unless you are on a Getresponse’Guru’,’Max’ or’Enterprise’ plan, the Getresponse landing page performance is rather limited: you can just produce one landing page, that can only be displayed 1,000 times a month.
Also, and above all, you can’t use the landing page A/B testing functionality on the least expensive Getresponse program (where the machine shows a sample of your customers different versions of your landing page, calculates conversion speeds, and ultimately rolls out the top performing landing page mechanically ).
If you’re serious about landing pages – plus they are certainly a useful attribute – then it is definitely worth considering among the more expensive Getresponse plans.
You may purchase the Landing Pages feature as an add-on for an additional $15 per month, but very frustratingly, although the add-on allows you to display an infinite number of landing pages to potential subscribers, it doesn’t include A/B testing.
Accordingly, if I was considering the Getresponse landing page functionality, I would not bother with this rather half-baked add-on: I would just go for one of the more expensive plans (which I guess is what Getresponse want one to do!) .
Getresponse was ahead of its competitors for quite some time using its responsive email layout functionality, which automatically corrects your e-newsletter’s template so that if a user is reading it onto a mobile device, the design and fonts will be automatically optimised for the device in question.
Most competing products have captured up on this today, and offer responsive email templates, but Getresponse is better than most similar products as soon as it comes to displaying a responsive preview of your e-newsletter – you just hit on a’cellphone preview’ button to get an instant snapshot of your email looks like on a smartphone (see image right).
Not just that but you can’reverse’ the smartphone trailer around, so that you can preview what your own email looks like when the screen is employed in either portrait or landscape style. Html Email Marketing
Customer Relationship Management
Among the most frustrating facets of using many famous CRM tools is that the necessity to export data to CSV and straight back into your email marketing instrument as a way to perform mailouts (or the need to export info from your email marketing tool into your CRM to include prospects to it).

An example of how you could use this functionality is as follows:
It is possible to add a contact to a particular stage on a revenue pipeline based on the page of your website they finished a form on;
you could then send them a automated email tailored to this pipeline stage a couple of days later;

And oddly, when you click a contact within a deal pipeline, you can not see their contact activity — i.e., the activities they’ve taken (open, clicks etc.) with regard to previous communications which you’ve delivered to your leads aren’t displayed. To see this, you need to go from the CRM part of Getresponse, search for your own contact in the contacts section and then click on their details. But guess what? Doing so does not exhibit their deal history.
Task management is non-existent also: unlike committed CRM tools, there’s no way to assign tasks to other team members.
Eventually, adding contacts to your pipeline stage is tough. You need to add contacts to a list , then go to the CRM pipeline, include a bargain and hunt your lists to receive the contact you just added. From a usability standpoint this is very clunky and time consuming. You should just have the ability to put in a deal right to a pipeline and enter the contact details of your guide or customer at the point.
So as things stand, the Getresponse CRM is a bit half-baked. But that said, it is a new feature and the stuff it can perform on the automation side is remarkable. I’m optimistic that this attribute gets developed over time since done right, it’s potentially a game-changer for entrepreneurs and SMEs.
Getresponse recently introduced the capability to host webinars on the platform.
Given that webinars are generally used as a lead-generation strategy, the notion of having your email database along with your webinar tool under the exact same roof is extremely attractive.
The pricing is also very aggressive too compared to based webinar solutions. With regards to how it stacks up against its rivals in this regard, I’d argue that Campaign Monitor is a tiny bit more user friendly, and Mailchimp has a slicker user interface (although one that makes finding certain functionality a little bit tricky at times).
1 place I think that might be significantly better in the user-friendliness point of view is the Getresponse e-newsletter editor.
Whilst its drag-and-drop approach does in theory provide an extremely flexible approach to make blocks of content and transfer them about an e-newsletter, in practice it’s fairly user friendly to use and may lead to accidental deletion of content, or placement of it in the incorrect part of the e-newsletter.
If you can get your head about it, and practice using it a bit, it does make for a useful instrument – it is only that the execution of it might be rather better.
Additionally, as explained above, the CRM instrument might be better from a usability point of view adding contacts to deals could be unnecessarily difficult.
The 30-day complimentary trial that Getresponse supplies is completely functional and the free trial isn’t contingent upon supplying credit card details.
This helps you avoid that annoying”oops I forgot I signed up for this particular trial and today I’m getting charged for a product I don’t use” scenario.
The only down side to this free trial is that it limits the number of subscribers you can send to 1000. It would be useful if this could be increased a bit, as it might help potential users try the tool out in more’real-world’ situations.
