Additionally, you will find a lot of templates to choose from — over 500 — and they’re presented in easy-to-understand classes, therefore it’s generally pretty straightforward to locate a good starting point to get a template and edit it until you’re happy with the plan.
If you’re really unhappy with the templates provided by Getresponse, there’s also the option of purchasing a template from a third party provider such as Theme Forest.

Online advertising campaigns which use landing pages will typically create far more leads in the event, instead of simply directing individuals to a (cluttered!) Site, they point users to attractive’squeeze pages’ comprising clear information and a clean, well-designed data capture type.

But unless you’re on a Getresponse’Pro’,’Max’ or’Enterprise’ program, the Getresponse landing page functionality is fairly limited: you can just create 1 landing page, which can only be displayed 1,000 times a month.
Also, and very importantly, you can’t utilize the landing page A/B testing functionality on the least expensive Getresponse program (whereby the system shows a sample of your users different variations of your landing page, calculates conversion rates, and ultimately rolls out the best performing landing page automatically).
If you are serious about landing pages – plus they’re unquestionably a useful attribute – then it is definitely worth considering among the more expensive Getresponse plans.
You may purchase the Landing Pages feature as an add-on for an additional $15 per month, but quite frustratingly, although the add-on allows you to show an infinite number of landing pages to potential subscribers, it doesn’t include A/B testing.
Therefore, if I had been interested in the Getresponse landing page functionality, I would not bother with this rather half-baked add-on: I would just go for one of the pricier programs (which I suppose is exactly what Getresponse would like one to do!) .
Getresponse was ahead of its competitors for quite some time with its responsive email layout functionality, which automatically corrects your e-newsletter’s template so that when an individual is reading it onto a mobile device, the design and fonts will be optimized for the device in question.
Most competing products have captured up on this today, and extend responsive email templates, but Getresponse is better than many similar products when it comes to displaying a reactive record of your e-newsletter – you simply hit on a’mobile preview’ button to get an instant snapshot of your email resembles on a smartphone (see picture right).

Customer Relationship Management
One of the most frustrating facets of using many famous CRM tools is the necessity to export data to CSV and straight back into your email marketing tool in order to do mailouts (or the need to export info from the email marketing tool into your CRM to include prospects to it).
When I saw Getresponse recently introducing a brand new CRM attribute in their plans I had been intrigued – this could possibly do away with all that data exporting and exporting, and keep everything neatly in 1 place.
Initially I wasn’t that impressed with the Getresponse CRM tool since you can only use it in order to perform quite basic tasks: you can create sales pipelines, add contacts to them and track activity (emails, telephone calls etc.) with these contacts manually.
But recently Getresponse have upped their video game somewhat on this particular front. The CRM is currently integrated with all of Getresponse’s email marketing functionality and you can add users to a CRM pipeline based on their action (form completions, email opens, purchases etc.) or activate autoresponders based on the addition of a new contact to a pipeline phase.
An example of how to use this operation is as follows:
You can add a contact to a particular point on a sales pipeline depending on the page of your site that they finished a form on;
you can then send a automated email tailored to that pipeline period a few days later;
and based on the actions they took with regard to that email (clicking on a particular link ) you can automatically move them onto another stage of the pipeline and automatically invite them into a webinar.
It is very smart stuff, and that I can not think of any email marketing product offering this kind of tight integration between autoresponders and CRM pipelines. For this kind of functionality you normally must look at dedicated — and more costly — CRM products like Salesforce and Infusionsoft.
But, it’s not all fantastic news about the CRM front there are a few big things missing from Getresponse’s CRM feature set.
The most glaring omission is e mail activity monitoring. Other CRM packages permit you to bcc a dropbox email address any time you send an email to a lead or customer; doing this keeps a record of this communication from the contact’s history. There’s currently no way of doing so with the Getresponse CRM, nor is there an simple way to send one-to-one mails to prospects or customers.
And strangely, if you click on a contact in a deal pipeline, you can’t see their contact activity — i.e., the activities they’ve taken (open, clicks etc.) in regards to previous communications that you have delivered to your leads aren’t displayed. To observe this, you have to go from the CRM part of Getresponse, hunt for your own contact in the contacts section and then click in their details. But guess what? Doing this doesn’t exhibit their deal history.
Task management is non-existent also: unlike dedicated CRM tools, there’s no way to assign tasks to other team members.
Finally, adding contacts to your pipeline stage is difficult. You need to add contacts to a list first, then go to the CRM pipeline, include a deal and hunt your lists to receive the contact you just added. From a usability point of view this is extremely clunky and time consuming. You should just be able to put in a deal right to a pipeline and then input the contact information of your lead or client at that point.
So as things stand, the Getresponse CRM is somewhat half-baked. However, it’s a new feature and the things it could perform on the automation aspect is impressive. I’m optimistic that this attribute gets developed over time because done right, it is possibly a game-changer for entrepreneurs and SMEs.
Getresponse recently introduced the ability to sponsor webinars on the stage.
Given that webinars are generally used as a lead-generation strategy, the notion of having your email database and your webinar tool under the same roof is very attractive.
The pricing is also very competitive also by comparison to based webinar solutions. The email deliverability rate – the proportion of e-newsletters delivered that successfully hit inboxes – is always a very important point to look at when choosing an email marketing instrument.
Not all email marketing suppliers are that forthright in their deliverability prices; but Getresponse seems pretty open about that, with this to say about it on their website:

I do need to pull Getresponse up on something relating to deliverability however: to guarantee a high deliverability speed, it’s advisable to use a system named DKIM email authentication. You can use DKIM using Getresponse – but only on the more expensive Getresponse’Max’ plans.
Although I’ve not struck any deliverability problems using the less costly plans, competing products don’t make you invest in a more expensive plan to avail of the feature — it would be useful to see Getresponse becoming more generous here.
There are two approaches you can employ to add subscribers to a mailing list: using a’only opt-in’ or a’double opt-in’ process.
If you use use a single opt-in process, the individual registering to your own mailing list is added to a mailing list the minute they hit the submit button on your sign up form.
Using a double opt-in process, the individual registering to your list is sent via an email containing a confirmation link that s/he must click before being subscribed.
The main benefit of a single sampling procedure is that it makes it very easy for users to subscribe to your mailing list; it also generally increases conversion rate and therefore the number of subscribers on your list. A dual opt-in procedure is best for verifying the folks subscribing to a record are using real email addresses and leads to cleaner information and more precise stats (because open rates etc. ) are calculated according to a list containing only real email addresses).
Now, the good news here is that Getresponse allows you to make use of either opt-in approach – this isn’t the case with all competing goods. Thus a thumbs up for Getresponse to be flexible about this.

1 place I think that could be significantly better from a user-friendliness standpoint is that the Getresponse e-newsletter editor.
Whilst its drag-and-drop strategy does in theory provide an extremely flexible way to make blocks of articles and transfer them about an e-newsletter, in practice it’s fairly user friendly to use and may lead to accidental deletion of content, or placement of it in the incorrect portion of the e-newsletter.
If you’re able to get your head around it, and practice using it a bit, it does result in a useful instrument – it is only that the implementation of it might be rather better.
Additionally, as described above, the CRM tool might be better from a usability point of view — adding contacts to deals could be unnecessarily difficult.
The 30-day free trial which Getresponse provides is completely functional and the free trial isn’t contingent upon providing credit card details.
This helps you avoid that annoying”oops I forgot I signed up for that trial and now I’m getting charged for a product that I do not use” scenario.
The only down side to this free trial is the fact that it restricts the number of subscribers it is possible to send to 1000. It would be useful if that could be raised a little, as it might help potential users try the tool out in more’real-world’ scenarios.

A good deal of improvements could be made to the data capture forms too, particularly for consumers wishing to exhibit them on mobile devices.
