‘metrics over time’: you can find out exactly when most of your readers take action in your mails, and time your prospective mailouts based on this information
’email ROI’: by adding some tracking code to your post-sales webpage on your site, it is possible to find out how effectively (or not!) Your email campaigns are driving sales, and workout your return on investment in email marketing.

Additionally, there are tons of templates to choose from — over 500 — and they are presented in easy-to-understand classes, so it is generally pretty simple to locate a good starting point for a template and edit it before you are delighted with the design.

Landing page Builder
Online advertising campaigns that use landing pages will typically generate far more leads if, instead of simply directing individuals to a (cluttered!) Site, they point users to attractive’squeeze pages’ comprising clear info and a tidy, well-designed data capture form.
Getresponse provides something very useful in this respect that most of its competitors don’t: a landing page founder (and one that is mobile-friendly to boot).
Products such as Campaign Monitor and Aweber require you to use a third party (and non invasive ) landing page creating tool such as Unbounce or Instapage; Mailchimp recently introduced a landing page performance but it’s yet to become as sophisticated at Getresponse’s.
However, unless you’re on a Getresponse’Pro’,’Max’ or’Enterprise’ program, the Getresponse landing page performance is fairly limited: you can just create one landing page, which could only be displayed 1,000 times per month.
Also, and very importantly, you can not use the landing page A/B testing functionality on the cheapest Getresponse plan (whereby the system indicates a sample of your users different versions of your landing page, calculates conversion speeds, and ultimately rolls out the best performing landing page mechanically ).
If you’re serious about landing pages – plus they are unquestionably a useful attribute – then it’s definitely worth considering one of the costlier Getresponse plans.
You can purchase the Landing Pages attribute as an add-on for an extra $15 per month, but quite frustratingly, even though the add-on allows you to display an infinite amount of landing pages to potential subscribers, it doesn’t consist of A/B testing.
Accordingly, if I had been interested in the Getresponse landing page performance, I would not bother with this fairly half-baked add-on: I would just go for a few of the more expensive plans (which I suppose is exactly what Getresponse would like one to do) .

Customer Relationship Management
Among the most frustrating facets of using many well-known CRM tools is the necessity to export data to CSV and straight back to your email marketing tool as a way to do mailouts (or the necessity to export info from the email marketing tool into your CRM to include leads to it).
When I saw Getresponse lately introducing a brand new CRM feature in their plans I had been intrigued – this could possibly eliminate all that data exporting and exporting, and keep everything neatly in one place.
Initially I wasn’t that impressed with the Getresponse CRM tool as you could only use it in order to carry out rather basic jobs: you can create sales pipelines, add contacts to them and monitor activity (mails, telephone calls etc.) with those contacts manually.
But recently Getresponse have upped their game a bit on this front. The CRM is now integrated with all of Getresponse’s email marketing operation and you can add users into a CRM pipeline based on their activity (form completions, email opens, purchases etc.) or trigger autoresponders based on the addition of a new contact to a pipeline phase.
An example of how you could use this functionality would be as follows:
It is possible to add a contact to a particular point on a revenue pipeline depending on the page of your site that they finished a form on;
you can then send a automated email tailored to this pipeline stage a couple of days afterwards;
and dependent on the actions they took with regard to this email (clicking on a particular link ) you can automatically move them onto another stage of the pipeline and invite invite them into a webinar.
It’s very clever stuff, and I can’t think of any similar email advertising product offering such a tight integration between autoresponders and CRM pipelines. For this kind of functionality you normally must look at dedicated — and more expensive — CRM products like Salesforce and Infusionsoft.
However, it’s not all fantastic news about the CRM front — there are a few big things missing from Getresponse’s CRM feature collection.
The most glaring omission is email activity tracking. Other CRM packages permit you to bcc a dropbox email address any time you send an email to some lead or customer; doing so keeps a record of the communication from the contact’s history. There is currently no way of doing this with all the Getresponse CRM, nor is there an easy way to send one-to-one mails to prospects or customers.
And strangely, if you click a contact in a deal pipeline, you can not see their contact activity — i.e., the actions they’ve taken (open, clicks etc.) with regard to previous communications which you’ve sent to your prospects are not displayed. To observe this, you have to go out of the CRM section of Getresponse, hunt for your own contact in the contacts section and click on their details. But guess what? Doing so doesn’t exhibit their deal history.
Task management is non-existent also: Unlike committed CRM tools, there is no way to assign tasks to other team members.
Finally, adding contacts into a pipeline stage is difficult. You need to add contacts to a list first, then go to the CRM pipeline, include a deal and hunt your lists for the contact you just added. From a usability standpoint this is extremely clunky and time consuming. You should just be able to put in a bargain right to a pipeline and then enter the contact information of your lead or customer at that point.
So as things stand, the Getresponse CRM is somewhat half-baked. But that said, it is a new feature and the stuff it can perform on the automation side is impressive. I am optimistic that this feature gets developed over time since done right, it’s potentially a game-changer for entrepreneurs and SMEs.
Getresponse recently introduced the capability to sponsor webinars on the platform.
Given that webinars are usually used as a lead-generation strategy, the idea of getting your email database along with your webinar tool under precisely the exact same roof is extremely appealing.

The email deliverability rate – the proportion of e-newsletters delivered that successfully hit inboxes – is always an important thing to check at when selecting an email marketing tool.
Not all email advertising suppliers are that forthright in their deliverability rates; however, Getresponse seems pretty open about that, with this to say about it in their own website:

On the whole, Getresponse is really straightforward to use. It’s certainly easy enough to perform all the basics: import contacts, create campaigns, setup autoresponders and check numbers and the interface is pretty intuitive and clean.
With regards to how it stacks up against its competitors in this regard, I’d assert that Campaign Monitor is a tiny bit more user friendly, and Mailchimp has a slicker user interface (although one which makes locating certain performance a little bit tricky at times).
One place I think that might be significantly better in the user-friendliness standpoint is the Getresponse e-newsletter editor.
Whilst its drag-and-drop strategy does in theory provide a very flexible approach to create blocks of articles and move them about an e-newsletter, in practice it is fairly user friendly to use and can cause accidental deletion of material, or placement of it in the wrong part of the e-newsletter.
If you can get your head around it, and practice using it a bit, it does result in a helpful tool – it is just that the implementation of it might be somewhat better.
Additionally, as described above, the CRM instrument could be far better from a usability point of view adding contacts to deals can be difficult.
The 30-day free trial that Getresponse supplies is completely functional and the free trial is not contingent upon providing credit card details.
This helps you avoid that annoying”oops I forgot I signed up for that trial and now I am getting charged for a commodity I do not use” scenario.
The only down side to the free trial is that it restricts the amount of subscribers it is possible to send to 1000. It would be good if this could be increased a bit, as it would help prospective users try the tool out in more’real world’ situations.

Mailchimp’s monthly fee to get a 1,000 record database is the same as Getresponse’s; and Mad Mimi provides a marginally more affordable, if much less operational offering for $12 per month.
Two final things to be Conscious of on the pricing :
Some competing providers — especially Mailchimp – provide free account for users with a few documents (but these don’t offer the entire assortment of features that you get on a paid plan).
As stated before, if you are ready to pay upfront for 1 or 2 decades, you can avail of substantial discounts the other competitors don’t yet supply.

Getresponse represents one of the more cost-effective ways to host and speak using an email database.
It’s also among the most interesting products of its type – in that it provides email marketing, landing pages, CRM and webinars all under a single roof. It is difficult to think of any competing product that offers this’all round’ proposition, and it’s what continues to persuade us to use it to Style Factory’s email advertising.
Some improvements to Getresponse do have to be made however, particularly where the email programmer is concerned – its drag and drop interface is much more fiddly and less responsive than it should be. A good deal of improvements can be made into the data capture types also, especially for consumers wanting to display them on mobile devices.
And from what I gather from reader opinions, there are improvements that could be made into the support offering.
All in all though I speed Getresponse very highly – you get considerable bang for your dollar with this product.
