The CRM is currently integrated with all Getresponse’s email marketing operation and you can add users to a CRM pipeline based on their activity (form completions, email opens, purchases etc.) or activate autoresponders based on the accession of a new contact to a pipeline stage.

The most glaring omission is e mail activity tracking. Additional CRM packages allow you to bcc a dropbox email address whenever you send an email to some lead or client; doing this keeps a record of the communication from the contact’s history. There’s currently no method of doing this with all the Getresponse CRM, nor is there an easy way to send one-to-one emails to prospects or clients.
And strangely, when you click on a contact in a deal pipeline, you can’t see their contact activity — i.e., the activities they’ve taken (open, clicks etc.) in regards to previous communications which you have delivered to your prospects aren’t displayed. To observe this, you have to go from the CRM part of Getresponse, hunt for your contact in the contacts section and click on their details. But guess what? Doing so doesn’t display their history.
Task management is non-existent too: unlike committed CRM tools, there’s no way to assign tasks to other group members.
Eventually, adding contacts into a pipeline stage is tough. You have to add contacts to a list first, then go to the CRM pipeline, add a deal and hunt your lists for the contact you just added. From a usability standpoint this is very clunky and time consuming. You should just have the ability to put in a bargain right to a pipeline and enter the contact details of your lead or customer at that point.
So as things stand, the Getresponse CRM is somewhat half-baked. However, it is a new attribute and the things it could do on the automation side is impressive. I’m hopeful that this attribute gets developed over time because done right, it is possibly a game-changer for entrepreneurs and SMEs.
