Getresponse’s feature set is arguably one of the most comprehensive on the market.

Landing page Builder
Online advertising campaigns which make use of landing pages will usually generate far more leads if, instead of simply directing individuals to a (cluttered!) Website, they point users to appealing’squeeze pages’ comprising clear information and a clean, well-designed data capture form.

Additionally, and very importantly, you can’t use the landing page A/B testing performance on the cheapest Getresponse program (whereby the system indicates a sample of your users different versions of your landing page, computes conversion speeds, and ultimately rolls out the best performing landing page automatically).
If you’re serious about landing pages – plus they’re certainly a helpful feature – then it is definitely worth looking at among the costlier Getresponse plans.
You can purchase the Landing Pages attribute as an add-on for an additional $15 per month, however quite frustratingly, although the add-on allows you to display an unlimited number of landing pages to potential subscribers, it does not consist of A/B testing.

Customer Relationship Management
One of the most frustrating aspects of using many famous CRM tools is the need to export data to CSV and back into your email marketing tool in order to perform mailouts (or the necessity to export info from your email marketing tool in your CRM to add prospects to it).
So when I watched Getresponse recently introducing a new CRM attribute into their plans I had been intrigued – that could potentially do away with all that data exporting and importing, and keep everything neatly in 1 place.
Initially I was not that impressed with the Getresponse CRM tool as you can only use it in order to carry out rather basic tasks: you can create sales pipelines, add contacts to them and track activity (mails, telephone calls etc.) with these contacts manually.
But recently Getresponse have upped their video game a bit on this front. The CRM is currently integrated with all Getresponse’s email marketing operation and you can add users into a CRM pipeline according to their activity (form completions, email opens, purchases etc.) or activate autoresponders depending on the addition of a new contact to a pipeline phase.
An example of how you could use this operation would be as follows:
It is possible to add a contact to a specific stage on a sales pipeline depending on the page of your site that they completed a form on;
you can then send them a automated email tailored to that pipeline period a few days later;
and dependent on the action they took with regard to this email (clicking on a particular link etc) you can automatically move them onto another phase of the pipeline and automatically invite them into a webinar.
It is very clever stuff, and I can not think of any email marketing product offering such a tight integration between autoresponders and CRM pipelines. For this kind of functionality you normally need to appear at committed — and more expensive — CRM products like Salesforce and Infusionsoft.
However, it’s not all fantastic news about the CRM front — there are some big things missing out of Getresponse’s CRM feature set.
The most glaring omission is e mail activity tracking. Other CRM packages allow you to bcc a dropbox email address any time you send an email to a lead or customer; doing so keeps a record of this communication from the contact’s history. There’s now no way of doing this with all the Getresponse CRM, nor is there an easy way to send one-to-one mails to prospects or customers.
And oddly, when you click a contact in a bargain pipeline, you can not see their contact action — i.e., the activities they have taken (open, clicks etc.) with regard to previous communications that you’ve sent to your prospects are not displayed. To see this, you have to go out of the CRM part of Getresponse, search for your own contact in the contacts section and click in their details. But guess what? Doing this doesn’t display their deal history.
Task management is non-existent too: Unlike dedicated CRM tools, there’s no way to assign tasks to other group members.
Eventually, adding contacts to a pipeline stage is difficult. You need to add contacts to a list first, then visit the CRM pipeline, include a deal and search your lists for the contact you just added. From a usability standpoint this is very clunky and time consuming. You should just be able to add a deal right to a pipeline and then enter the contact details of your guide or client at the point.
So as things stand, the Getresponse CRM is a bit half-baked. However, it’s a new feature and the stuff it could perform on the automation side is remarkable. I’m optimistic that this attribute gets developed over time since done right, it is possibly a game-changer for entrepreneurs and SMEs.
Getresponse recently introduced the ability to host webinars on the stage.
Given that webinars are generally utilized as a lead-generation strategy, the notion of having your email database along with your webinar tool under the exact same roof is very appealing.
The pricing is also very competitive also compared to based webinar solutions. Not all email marketing suppliers are that forthright in their deliverability rates; however, Getresponse seems pretty open about this, with this to say about it in their own site:

On the whole, Getresponse is pretty straightforward to use. It is certainly easy enough to do all of the basics: import contacts, create campaigns, setup autoresponders and check numbers and the interface is pretty clean and intuitive.
In terms of how it stacks up against its competitors in this respect, I’d argue that Campaign Monitor is a tiny bit more user friendly, and Mailchimp includes a slicker user interface (though one which makes locating certain performance a little bit tricky at times).
One area I feel that might be significantly better from a user-friendliness point of view is the Getresponse e-newsletter editor.
Whilst its drag-and-drop strategy does in theory provide an extremely flexible way to make blocks of content and transfer them about an e-newsletter, in practice it is fairly user friendly to use and can lead to accidental deletion of content, or positioning of it in the wrong part of the e-newsletter.
If you can get your head around it, and practice using it a little bit, it does result in a useful tool – it is only that the execution of it might be rather better.
Also, as explained above, the CRM instrument might be far better from a usability point of view — adding contacts to deals can be difficult.
The 30-day complimentary trial that Getresponse provides is fully operational and the free trial isn’t contingent upon supplying credit card details.
This makes it possible to avoid that annoying”oops I forgot I signed up for that trial and today I’m getting charged for a product that I do not use” scenario.
The only down side to the free trial is the fact that it limits the amount of readers it is possible to send to 1000. It would be useful if this could be increased a bit, as it would help potential users try out the tool in more’real world’ situations.

A good deal of improvements can be made into the data capture types too, especially for consumers wishing to display them on mobile devices.
And from what I gather from reader opinions, there are developments that could be made into the service offering.
