You may purchase the Landing Pages attribute as an add-on to get an extra $15 a month, but very frustratingly, even though the add-on allows you to display an unlimited number of landing pages to potential subscribers, it does not include A/B testing.
Accordingly, if I had been interested in the Getresponse landing page performance, I wouldn’t bother with this fairly half-baked add-on: I would just go for a few of the pricier programs (which I suppose is what Getresponse want you to do!) .
Getresponse was ahead of its competitors for quite a while using its responsive email layout performance, which automatically adjusts your e-newsletter’s template so that when an individual is reading it on a mobile device, the design and fonts will be automatically optimised for the device in question.
Most competing products have caught up on this now, and extend responsive email templates, but Getresponse is far better than most similar goods when it comes to displaying a responsive preview of your e-newsletter – you simply hit a’cellphone preview’ button for an instant snapshot of what your email resembles on a smartphone (see image right).

The CRM is now integrated with all of Getresponse’s email marketing operation and you can add users to a CRM pipeline according to their activity (form completions, email opens, purchases etc.) or trigger autoresponders depending on the accession of a new contact into a pipeline phase.
An example of how to use this operation would be as follows:
It is possible to add a contact to a particular stage on a revenue pipeline based on the page of your website that they completed a form on;

However, it is not all fantastic news about the CRM front there are some big things missing out of Getresponse’s CRM attribute collection.
The most glaring omission is e mail activity monitoring. Other CRM packages permit you to bcc a dropbox email address any time you send an email to some lead or client; doing so keeps a list of the communication in the contact’s history. There is currently no method of doing so with the Getresponse CRM, nor is there an easy way to send one-to-one emails to leads or clients.
And strangely, if you click a contact within a bargain pipeline, you can’t see their contact activity — i.e., the activities they’ve taken (open, clicks etc.) with regard to previous communications that you’ve sent to your prospects are not displayed. To observe this, you have to go from the CRM part of Getresponse, hunt for your contact in the contacts section and then click on their details. But guess what? Doing so does not exhibit their history.
Task management is non-existent also: unlike dedicated CRM tools, there’s no way to assign tasks to other team members.
Finally, adding contacts into a pipeline stage is tough. You have to add contacts to a list first, then go to the CRM pipeline, include a deal and search your lists to receive the contact you just added. From a usability point of view this is very clunky and time consuming. You should just be able to add a bargain directly to a pipeline and then input the contact details of your lead or customer at that point.
So as things stand, the Getresponse CRM is a bit half-baked. But that said, it is a new feature and the stuff it can do on the automation side is impressive. I am hopeful that this feature gets developed over time because done right, it’s possibly a game-changer for entrepreneurs and SMEs.
Getresponse recently introduced the capability to sponsor webinars on the stage.
Given that webinars are generally used as a lead-generation strategy, the idea of having your email database along with your webinar tool under the exact same roof is very attractive.
The pricing is also very aggressive too compared to established webinar solutions. The email deliverability rate – the percentage of e-newsletters sent that successfully reach inboxes – is obviously a very important thing to check at when selecting an email marketing instrument.
Not all email advertising suppliers are that forthright in their deliverability prices; however, Getresponse seems reasonably open about that, with this to say about it on their site:

Though I’ve not encountered any deliverability problems using the cheaper plans, competing goods don’t force you to invest in a more expensive plan to avail of this feature — it’d be good to see Getresponse being more generous here.
There are two approaches you can employ to add subscribers to a mailing list: having a’only opt-in’ or a’double click’ process.
If you utilize one opt-in procedure, the person signing up to your own mailing list is added to your mailing list the moment they hit the submit button on your sign up form.
With a double opt-in process, the person registering to your record is sent via an email containing a confirmation link that s/he must click before being subscribed.
The main benefit of one opt-in process is that it makes it really easy for users to sign up for your mailing list; it also generally increases conversion speed and therefore the amount of readers on your record. A dual opt-in procedure is better for verifying the folks subscribing to a record are using real email addresses and contributes to cleaner data and more precise stats (because receptive rates etc. are calculated based on a list containing only real email addresses).
Now, the fantastic news here is that Getresponse permits you to take advantage of either opt-in approach – this is not the case with all competing products. So a thumbs up for Getresponse for being flexible on this.
You’re probably thinking that all this sounds pretty fine — but to be honest, I think there’s a great deal of room for advancement with respect to Getresponse form templates.
For a start, they are not responsive (i.e.they won’t resize themselves automatically to match the device they’re being viewed on).
Furthermore, no controls are provided by Getresponse to switch forms off or on on specific devices or individual pages of your website. In the light of Google’s new strategy to pop-ups (where websites can have a hit in search results if they exhibit’intrusive interstitials’ on cellular devices) this really is a small concern.

1 area I think that could be significantly better in the user-friendliness standpoint is that the Getresponse e-newsletter editor.
Whilst its drag-and-drop approach does in theory provide an extremely flexible way to create blocks of articles and transfer them about an e-newsletter, in practice it’s fairly user friendly to use and may cause accidental deletion of material, or positioning of it in the incorrect part of the e-newsletter.
If you’re able to get your head around it, and practice using it a little bit, it does make for a helpful tool – it’s just that the implementation of it might be rather better.
Also, as explained above, the CRM tool could be far better from a usability point of view — adding contacts to deals could be unnecessarily difficult.
The 30-day free trial which Getresponse supplies is completely functional and the free trial is not contingent upon providing credit card information.
This makes it possible to avoid that annoying”oops I forgot I signed up for that trial and now I’m getting charged for a commodity that I do not use” scenario.
The only down side to the free trial is that it restricts the amount of readers you can send to to 1000. It would be useful if this could be increased a bit, as it would help potential users try out the tool in more’real world’ scenarios.

So long as you’re pleased to use one of the entry-level’Email’ plans, the pay-per-month Getresponse programs are on the whole more affordable than those supplied by many of its key competitors, especially in case you’ve got a reasonably high number of email addresses on your own database.

The only well-known service I could think of that comes from significantly cheaper is Mad Mimi, which charges $42 per month to host up to 10,000 email addresses (note however that the functionality provided by Mad Mimi is nowhere near as broad as Getresponse’s or indeed the other products mentioned above).
It’s also worth pointing out that Mailchimp offers thinner pricing rings, meaning that based on how big your listing, it might occasionally be a slightly cheaper alternative than Getresponse.
At the database end of things, Getresponse’s pricing is really competitive too – you can host a database comprising 1,000 email addresses for $15 a month using Getresponse, compared to $29 with Aweber; $59 on Campaign Monitor (unlimited send).
Mailchimp’s monthly fee for a 1,000 record database is the like Getresponse’s; and Mad Mimi supplies a marginally cheaper, if much less functional offering for $12 a month.
Two final things to be aware of about the pricing front:
Some competing suppliers — notably Mailchimp – offer free accounts for users that have a small number of records (but these do not offer the full assortment of features that you get on a paid program ).

Some developments to Getresponse do need to be made however, particularly where the email programmer is concerned – its own drag and drop interface is much more fiddly and not as responsive than it should be. A lot of improvements can be made to the data capture types too, especially for users wanting to display them on mobile devices.
And from what I gather from reader feedback, there are developments which could be made into the support offering.
All in all though I rate Getresponse very tremendously – you get considerable bang for your dollar with this product.
