It is very clever stuff, and I can not think of any similar email advertising product offering such a tight integration between autoresponders and CRM pipelines. For this type of functionality you normally need to appear at committed — and more expensive — CRM products such as Salesforce and Infusionsoft.
But, it’s not all good news about the CRM front there are some big things missing from Getresponse’s CRM feature collection.
The most glaring omission is e mail activity tracking. Task management is non-existent too: unlike committed CRM tools, there’s no way to assign tasks to other team members.
Finally, adding contacts to your pipeline stage is difficult. You need to add contacts to a list , then visit the CRM pipeline, include a bargain and search your lists to receive the contact you just added. From a usability point of view this is very clunky and time consuming. You should just be able to add a deal directly to a pipeline and then enter the contact information of your lead or client at the point.
So as things stand, the Getresponse CRM is somewhat half-baked. However, it’s a new attribute and the things it could do on the automation aspect is impressive. I’m hopeful that this feature gets developed over time because done right, it is potentially a game-changer for entrepreneurs and SMEs.
Getresponse recently introduced the capability to host webinars on the platform.
Given that webinars are usually used as a lead-generation tactic, the notion of having your email database along with your webinar tool under the exact same roof is extremely attractive.
The pricing is also very aggressive also by comparison to established webinar solutions. Whilst its drag-and-drop approach does in theory provide a very flexible way to create blocks of articles and move them about an e-newsletter, in practice it is fairly clunky to use and may cause accidental deletion of material, or positioning of it at the incorrect part of the e-newsletter.
If you can get your head about it, and practice using it a little bit, it does result in a useful instrument – it’s only that the execution of it might be rather better.
Also, as explained above, the CRM tool might be better from a usability point of view — adding contacts to deals could be difficult.
The 30-day complimentary trial that Getresponse provides is fully operational and the free trial is not contingent upon supplying credit card information.
