Like most email marketing providers these days, you will need to Go through a review process before being able to properly use the software.
When you first register, you’ll be asked to finish your profile.
This includes information like your company name, website, Industry, address, company size, list size and also the type of content you plan to send.

You’ll notice that MailerLite has Already populated this region with their own areas, such as title, company, and country.
If you want to create your own custom fields, you can do this by Clicking the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV record of your subscribers along with Your custom field data in separate columns… or can easily add these fields to your types which will only apply to future subscribers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I made and added into a form:
I will not go too much into the shape Things here because I have a whole section on this below, but this is the approach I would recommend if you wanted to use this feature.
Again, once you’ve collected your custom field data from new Subscribers, you are able to pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click on the’Personalization’ drop down and choose your Customized field.
I’m barely scraping the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it is important to understand that this is a feature you may use.

If you are not impressed with what you have seen so far, then perhaps The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After choosing’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, you’ll be Able to select from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template selection Is not winning any awards, it will offer a fantastic foundation to work from if, for example the majority of us, you don’t have that pure eye for layout.

This is really where most email Marketing platforms would render you, but MailerLite has yet another trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your effort Data in the dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from campaign open and click info, Subscriber development, automation analytics, and form signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you specific reporting for this effort.
This is where you’ll find some statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, studying environment, email client and more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary consumer…
…but if you really want To dig into the numbers, you can click into different areas of this report to get a more detailed breakdown.
You can find some real gems beneath These reports.
By Way of Example, the’View Mail’ tab also shows a click map, so You can see your subscribers interacted with your emails compared to one another.
Reports for automations are also Available under the’Automations’ tab, though I found these to be less enlightening than effort reports.

Total, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting interface, and many will get the available data more than sufficient to meet their needs.
What’s email advertising with no dash of automation?
For most reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this review.
The great news? If you have ever used a visual workflow builder, You will instantly feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, The automations interface is simple, clean and simple to navigate — something which certainly can’t be said for each and every email marketing program.
After setting your trigger, you can begin adding measures to your workflow.
These steps could be anything from sending an email, adding a Postpone, a bubble break, or an action, such as transferring a contributor or upgrading their records.
Here’s a straightforward workflow I put together, where readers Are unsubscribed when they don’t open my email within 7 days.
There are innumerable Possibilities when it comes to workflow automations similar to this, and MailerLite ought to have no trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it is not quite as Feature-rich as something like ActiveCampaign because it lacks some of the conditional components. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.. )
For Instance, there’s now no automation for transferring Subscribers directly into another automation.
That being said, most of these activities can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into different groups that activate new automation workflows. It’s simply not as efficient…. yet.
Another question of efficacy here is when generating new mails In the automation workflow builder.
After having an email cube to The workflow, you will be asked to put in your topic line which then appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking the’Design email’ button will fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be temporarily Redirected to the standard campaign creation wizard, which I covered previously in the critique.
This time, however, as Soon as You’ve established your email, clicking on the ‘Done editing’ button will direct you back to the automations workflow instead of the usual sending options.
Finally, your email will be Loaded into your automation.
A nice touch here is using a thumbnail preview of your Email within your automation block, which means you can get an concept of what it contains at a glimpse.
While this procedure may seem like A grind on paper, it is really much faster than what I am utilized to with other email advertising tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something such as ConvertKit where The editor is loaded within the automations builder, you will likely find that this downgrade in functionality.
It is fast enough for me, Personally, however I guess it is all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there’s 1 type of automation You won’t find in MailerLite, also that I think it’s important to highlight.
The ability to activate an automation (or step) based on how Subscribers interact with the pages on your website.

The cost of MailerLite is among those tools biggest Selling points, and let us face it, we all love a good deal.
For starters, they offer an unlimited free plan that includes All features (including premium) to get as many as 1,000 subscribers.
While there is some subtle Branding in your mails using this program, it is still an wonderful option for those starting out.
And what about the premium programs?
It ends up, at around half the Cost of the competition on average, MailerLite is by far among the least expensive options on the market. Additionally, if you are willing to pay annually, you are also able to get a much better discount.
In Reality, I haven’t been able to find anything that does exactly the Exact Same job, cheaper.
