Among the most frustrating facets of using many well-known CRM tools is that the need to export data to CSV and back into your email marketing tool in order to do mailouts (or the necessity to export data from the email marketing tool into your CRM to add leads to it).
So when I watched Getresponse lately introducing a new CRM attribute in their plans I was intrigued – that could possibly eliminate all that info exporting and exporting, and keep everything neatly in 1 area.

However, it’s not all fantastic news on the CRM front there are some big things missing from Getresponse’s CRM attribute collection.
The most glaring omission is email activity monitoring. Other CRM packages permit you to bcc a dropbox email address whenever you send an email to a lead or client; doing this keeps a list of the communication from the contact’s history. There’s now no way of doing so with all the Getresponse CRM, nor is there an simple way to send one-to-one mails to prospects or clients.
And oddly, if you click on a contact within a bargain pipeline, you can’t see their contact action — i.e., the activities they have taken (open, clicks etc.) in regards to previous communications that you’ve sent to your prospects aren’t displayed. To observe this, you have to go out of the CRM section of Getresponse, hunt for your own contact in the contacts section and then click on their details. But guess what? Task management is non-existent also: unlike committed CRM tools, there is no way to assign tasks to other team members.

Getresponse recently introduced the capability to sponsor webinars on the stage.

Additionally, as explained above, the CRM tool could be better from a usability point of view adding contacts to deals can be unnecessarily difficult.
The 30-day free trial that Getresponse provides is completely operational and the free trial is not contingent upon supplying credit card details.
This helps you avoid that annoying”oops I forgot I signed up for this particular trial and now I’m getting charged for a product that I don’t use” scenario.
The only down side to the free trial is that it restricts the number of subscribers you can send to to 1000. It would be useful if that could be raised a little, as it would help potential users try out the tool in more’real-world’ situations.

Additionally, it is worth pointing out that Mailchimp offers narrower pricing bands, meaning that based on the size of your listing, it may occasionally be a slightly cheaper alternative than Getresponse.
In the smaller database end of things, Getresponse’s pricing is really competitive too – you can host a database containing 1,000 email addresses for $15 a month with Getresponse, compared to $29 with Aweber; $59 on Campaign Monitor (infinite send).
Mailchimp’s monthly fee for a 1,000 recording database is exactly the same as Getresponse’s; and Mad Mimi provides a marginally cheaper, if much less functional offering for $12 a month.
Two final things to be aware of on the pricing front:
Some competing providers — notably Mailchimp – offer free accounts for users with a few documents (but these do not offer the entire range of features that you get on a paid program ).
As stated earlier, if you’re prepared to pay upfront for 1 or 2 decades, you can avail of significant discounts that the other competitors do not yet provide.

Some developments to Getresponse do need to be made however, especially where the email designer is concerned – its own drag and drop interface is more fiddly and less responsive than it should be. Overall though I speed Getresponse very highly – you get substantial bang for your buck with this item.
