Another thing worth pointing out seeing Getresponse’s templates is that the range of RSS-to-email applications options aren’t very extensive (only 11 templates are provided – well short of their 700+ accessible for regular newsletters!) Landing page Builder
Online advertising campaigns which use landing pages will usually create far more leads if, instead of simply directing people to some (cluttered!) Website, they tip users to appealing’squeeze pages’ containing clear info and a clean, well-designed data capture form.
Getresponse provides something very useful in this regard that the majority of its competitors don’t: a landing page creator (and one that’s mobile-friendly to boot).

You can purchase the Landing Pages feature as an add-on to get an extra $15 a month, however quite frustratingly, although the add-on allows you to show an infinite number of landing pages to prospective subscribers, it does not consist of A/B testing.

One of the most frustrating aspects of utilizing many famous CRM tools is that the need to export information to CSV and back into your email marketing instrument as a way to perform mailouts (or the need to export info from the email marketing tool in your CRM to include prospects to it).
When I saw Getresponse recently introducing a brand new CRM feature in their plans I had been intrigued – this could potentially eliminate all that info exporting and exporting, and keep everything neatly in one area.

But recently Getresponse have upped their game a bit on this particular front. The CRM is now integrated with all Getresponse’s email marketing operation and you can add users into a CRM pipeline based on their action (form completions, email opens, purchases etc.) or trigger autoresponders based on the addition of a new contact into a pipeline phase.
An example of how you could use this operation is as follows:
It is possible to add a contact to a particular point on a revenue pipeline depending on the page of your website that they finished a form ;
you can then send them a automated email tailored to this pipeline stage a couple of days afterwards;

However, it is not all fantastic news on the CRM front there are a few big things missing from Getresponse’s CRM feature set.
The most glaring omission is email activity monitoring. Additional CRM packages allow you to bcc a dropbox email address whenever you send an email to a lead or customer; doing this keeps a record of the communication from the contact’s history. There’s currently no way of doing this together with the Getresponse CRM, nor is there an easy way to send one-to-one mails to leads or clients.
And oddly, when you click on a contact in a deal pipeline, you can’t see their contact action — i.e., the activities they have taken (open, clicks etc.) with regard to previous communications which you’ve sent to your leads are not displayed. To see this, you have to go from the CRM section of Getresponse, search for your own contact in the contacts section and then click in their details. But guess what? Doing this does not exhibit their history.
Task management is non-existent too: unlike dedicated CRM tools, there’s no way to assign tasks to other group members.
Finally, adding contacts into a pipeline stage is tough. You have to add contacts to a list , then visit the CRM pipeline, add a deal and hunt your lists to receive the contact you just added. From a usability standpoint this is extremely clunky and time consuming. You should just be able to put in a bargain directly to a pipeline and then input the contact details of your lead or client at the point.
So as things stand, the Getresponse CRM is somewhat half-baked. However, it is a new attribute and the things it could perform on the automation side is remarkable. I am hopeful that this attribute becomes developed over time because done right, it is potentially a game-changer for entrepreneurs and SMEs.
Getresponse recently introduced the capability to host webinars on the platform.
Given that webinars are usually utilized as a lead-generation strategy, the notion of getting your email database and your webinar tool under the exact same roof is very appealing.
The pricing is also very aggressive also compared to established webinar solutions. Furthermore, Getresponse actually provides you the deliverability rate of each message on your email analytics – this is something that I have not struck on rival goods’ metrics. A thumbs up for this.
I really do need to pull Getresponse on something concerning deliverability however: to guarantee a high deliverability rate, it’s a good idea to use a system called DKIM email authentication. You can use DKIM with Getresponse – but only on the costlier Getresponse’Max’ plans.

Whilst its drag-and-drop strategy does in theory provide a very flexible way to create blocks of articles and move them around an e-newsletter, in practice it is fairly user friendly to use and can lead to accidental deletion of content, or positioning of it at the wrong part of the e-newsletter.
If you’re able to get your head about it, and practice using it a little bit, it will make for a useful instrument – it is only that the execution of it could be somewhat better.
Also, as explained above, the CRM tool might be far better from a usability point of view adding contacts to deals could be difficult.
The 30-day free trial that Getresponse supplies is completely operational and the free trial is not contingent upon providing credit card information.
This helps you avoid that annoying”oops I forgot I signed up for this particular trial and now I am getting charged for a product I don’t use” scenario.
The only down side to the free trial is that it limits the number of readers you can send to to 1000. It would be useful if that could be raised a little, as it would help prospective users try out the tool in more’real-world’ scenarios.

The sole well-known service I can think of that comes in considerably more affordable is Mad Mimi, which charges $42 per month to host up to 10,000 email addresses (note however that the performance provided by Mad Mimi is nowhere near as broad as Getresponse’s or indeed the other products mentioned above).
Additionally, it is worth pointing out that Mailchimp offers thinner pricing rings, meaning that depending on how big your list, it may sometimes be a slightly cheaper option than Getresponse.
In the smaller database end of things, Getresponse’s pricing is really competitive too – you can host a database comprising 1,000 email addresses for $15 a month using Getresponse, compared to $29 with Aweber; $59 on Campaign Monitor (infinite send).
Mailchimp’s monthly fee for a 1,000 recording database will be the like Getresponse’s; and Mad Mimi supplies a marginally cheaper, if much less operational offering for $12 per month.
Two final things to be aware of about the pricing :
Some competing suppliers — especially Mailchimp – offer free accounts for users with a small number of documents (but these don’t offer the entire assortment of features that you get on a paid program ).

Some improvements to Getresponse do need to be made nonetheless, especially where the email designer is concerned – its own drag and drop interface is much more fiddly and less responsive than it should be.
