Description of Getresponse Email Marketing Design Software Free Download
Getresponse is primarily an email marketing app Which Allows you to: Email Marketing Design Software Free Download
Import and host a mailing list and capture data onto it
create newsletters which could be sent to the subscribers in your mailing list
automate your mails to subscribers via use of’autoresponders’
perspective and analyse data related to your email marketing campaigns — open rate, click through, forwards etc..
Recently however, Getresponse’s attribute set has developed quite a bit, to the point at which it is getting more of an’all-in-one’ marketing alternative.
Besides email advertising, it now also supplies training hosting, landing pages, and some CRM (client relationship management) functionality.
We’ll discuss all these attributes in depth below, but first, let us look in pricing.
Getresponse’s feature set is arguably among the most comprehensive out there.
Not only does it provide all the key stuff you’d expect from an email marketing platform – list templates, hosting, autoresponders, analytics and so forth, but as mentioned above, it’s been expanding the feature set to the point at which it’s morphing into an all-in-one / CRM-style marketing platform.
The question is if Getresponse is a jack of all trades and master of none – let us drill down into the key features to find out.
Up until very recently Getresponse support was amongst the most comprehensive available for email marketing tools: the company offered phone service together with live chat support, email service and assorted online tutorials / resources.
Sadly, the telephone support has now been discontinued. Instead you are going to need to use live chat (24/7) or email support. To be honest, most similar e-marketing platform providers only offer you these two stations – if telephone support is a deal-breaker for you then you may want to contemplate Aweber, which still supplies it (you can read our Aweber review ).
Concerning the caliber of Getresponse service, I have never needed to use it very frequently (a fantastic thing) but once I’ve I’ve found it to be a bit of a mixed bag (less of a fantastic thing). Some of those live chat support I’ve received has been excellent, and I haven’t had to wait too much time to chat with an agent; the email support .
Some of the feedback I have from our readers will suggest that there do need to be improvements made in terms of the caliber of support Getresponse offer. As with a lot of these types of companies, I anticipate it boils down to that you get on the day. Email Marketing Design Software Free Download
Getresponse offers some very comprehensive reporting and analytics options. You get all the Fundamentals of track – open rate, click-through, unsubscribe rates and so forth – but in addition to that you will find some very nifty features that are worth a particular mention, specifically:
‘one-click segmentation’: the choice to spot people who did not engage with an e-newsletter that you shipped and set them in a segment of readers that you may then email again using a different variant of the e-newsletter
‘metrics over time’: you can discover just when a lot of your readers take action on your mails, and period your future mailouts according to this info
’email ROI’: by adding some monitoring code to your post-sales page on your site, you can discover how effectively (or not!) Your email campaigns are driving earnings, and work out your return on investment in email advertising.
Per-user info – you can click one of your readers and see where they signed from, where they are located and which emails they have opened in the past.
Mailchimp and Aweber offer some comparable reporting functionality (especially around sales tracking) but Getresponse’s reporting application is definitely one of most featured on the market (it surely trounces the stats options offered by Mad Mimi and Campaign Monitor).
Thus far so good with Getresponse, however, in regards to templates, Getresponse arguably falls down a little.
Unfortunately, the templates supplied out of the box look somewhat dated; they are not as attractive as those offered by Mailchimp or Campaign Monitor (and that I slightly prefer Aweber’s offering here too).
On the other hand, the templates are extremely tweakable – you can alter fonts, designs and imagery easily enough using the controls supplied; and naturally there is nothing to prevent you simply designing your own HTML email template and minding the code for it.
Furthermore, you will find tons of templates to choose from — around 500 — and they are introduced in easy-to-understand classes, therefore it is generally pretty straightforward to find a good starting point to get a template and then edit it until you’re happy with the design.
If you are really unhappy with the templates offered by Getresponse, there’s also the option of purchasing a template from a third party supplier such as Theme Forest.
Another thing worth pointing out seeing Getresponse’s templates is the assortment of RSS-to-email software options aren’t so extensive (only 11 templates are provided – well short of the 700+ available for routine newsletters!) And some of them played a bit for me when I tested them (2010). I eventually found something that worked for me, but I think there are definitely a few improvements which could be created in this region. Email Marketing Design Software Free Download
Autoresponders are e-newsletters that are sent to your readers at intervals depending on you — you can put them up so that immediately after somebody signals up to your mailing list, they get a welcome message from the business; a week later they can receive a discount deal for some of your goods or services; three months after they could obtain an encouragement to accompany you on social networking. And so on.
Getresponse’s autoresponder functionality is an integral selling point – it provides among the most comprehensive feature sets available.
You can send time-based or action-based messages; time-based options comprise cycles such as the illustration above, and also action-based messages may be triggered by user actions or advice, for example:
subscriptions to certain lists
changes in contact tastes
completed transactions / goals
changes in consumer information
Recently Getresponse launched a brand new version of their new autoresponder functionality, known as’Marketing Automation.’
This allows you to make automation workflows with a drag and drop builder – you basically install an’automation flowchart’ that educates Getresponse what to do if a user opens a specific offer, clicks on a specific link etc..
This type of functionality goes way beyond what has traditionally been available from autoresponders, and lets you make an individual travel that can be customised to the nth degree.
To get a quick overview I would suggest having a look at Getresponse’s video overview for Marketing Automation.
It’s important to note, however, these more innovative marketing automation features are only available on the more expensive plans – the’Pro’ program and up. Email Marketing Design Software Free Download
Landing page Builder
Online advertising campaigns that make use of landing pages will typically create far more leads if, rather than simply directing individuals to a (cluttered!) Site, they tip users to appealing’squeeze pages’ comprising clear information and a tidy, well-designed data capture form.
Getresponse offers something very useful in this regard that the majority of its competitors don’t: a landing page creator (and one that’s mobile-friendly to boot).
Products like Campaign Monitor and Aweber ask you to use a third party (and paid-for) landing page generating tool such as Unbounce or Instapage; Mailchimp recently introduced a landing page functionality but it’s yet to become sophisticated at Getresponse’s.
However, unless you are on a Getresponse’Pro’,’Max’ or’Enterprise’ plan, the Getresponse landing page performance is rather limited: you can just produce 1 landing page, which could simply be displayed 1,000 times per month.
Additionally, and very importantly, you can not utilize the landing page A/B testing functionality on the least expensive Getresponse program (where the machine shows a sample of your customers different versions of your landing page, computes conversion speeds, and finally rolls out the best performing landing page automatically).
If you are serious about landing pages – and they’re certainly a helpful feature – then it’s definitely worth looking at one of the costlier Getresponse plans.
You can purchase the Landing Pages attribute as an add-on for an extra $15 a month, however very frustratingly, even though the add-on allows you to show an infinite amount of landing pages to potential subscribers, it doesn’t consist of A/B testing.
Accordingly, if I was interested in the Getresponse landing page performance, I wouldn’t bother with this rather half-baked add-on: I would just go for one of the more expensive plans (which I guess is exactly what Getresponse would like you to do) .
Getresponse was ahead of its rivals for quite a while using its responsive email design functionality, which automatically adjusts your e-newsletter’s template so that when a user is reading it on a mobile device, the design and fonts will be optimized for the device in question.
Most competing products have captured up on this now, and extend responsive email templates, but Getresponse is better than many similar products when it comes to displaying a reactive record of your e-newsletter – you simply hit on a’mobile preview’ button for an instant snapshot of what your email resembles on a smartphone (see image right).
Not just that but you can’reverse’ the smartphone preview around, so that you may preview what your own email looks like when the display is used in either portrait or landscape style. Email Marketing Design Software Free Download
Customer Relationship Management
Among the most frustrating aspects of utilizing many famous CRM tools is that the necessity to export information to CSV and straight back to your email marketing tool in order to perform mailouts (or the necessity to export data from your email marketing tool into your CRM to add leads to it).
So when I watched Getresponse recently introducing a new CRM feature into their plans I was intrigued – that could potentially do away with all that data exporting and exporting, and keep everything neatly in 1 place.
Initially I was not that impressed with the Getresponse CRM tool since you can only use it to carry out rather basic jobs: you can create sales pipelines, add contacts to them and track activity (mails, phone calls etc.) with those contacts manually.
But lately Getresponse have upped their game a bit on this front. The CRM is currently integrated with all Getresponse’s email marketing functionality and you can add users into a CRM pipeline according to their activity (form completions, email opens, purchases etc.) or trigger autoresponders based on the accession of a new contact to a pipeline stage.
An example of how you could use this functionality is as follows:
You can add a contact to a particular stage on a revenue pipeline based on the page of your website they completed a form on;
you can then send them a automated email tailored to that pipeline stage a couple of days afterwards;
and dependent on the action they took in regards to this email (clicking on a particular link ) you could automatically move them on another phase of the pipeline and invite invite them to a webinar.
It is very clever stuff, and I can’t think of any email marketing product offering such a tight integration between autoresponders and CRM pipelines. For this type of performance you normally must appear at dedicated — and more expensive — CRM products such as Salesforce and Infusionsoft.
However, it is not all good news about the CRM front — there are a few big things missing from Getresponse’s CRM feature set.
The most glaring omission is e mail activity monitoring. Additional CRM packages permit you to bcc a dropbox email address whenever you send an email to some lead or customer; doing this keeps a list of this communication from the contact’s history. There is now no way of doing so together with all the Getresponse CRM, nor is there an simple way to send one-to-one emails to prospects or clients.
And oddly, when you click on a contact within a bargain pipeline, you can not see their contact activity — i.e., the actions they have taken (open, clicks etc.) in regards to previous communications that you’ve delivered to your prospects aren’t displayed. To observe this, you need to go from the CRM section of Getresponse, search for your contact in the contacts section and then click in their details. But guess what? Doing this does not exhibit their history.
Task management is non-existent too: Unlike committed CRM tools, there is no way to assign tasks to other team members.
Eventually, adding contacts to your pipeline stage is tough. You have to add contacts to a list first, then visit the CRM pipeline, include a bargain and hunt your lists for the contact you just added. From a usability point of view this is very clunky and time consuming. You should just be able to add a deal right to a pipeline and input the contact details of your lead or client at that point.
So as things stand, the Getresponse CRM is a bit half-baked. But that said, it’s a new feature and the things it could perform on the automation side is remarkable. I am hopeful that this feature becomes developed over time since done right, it is potentially a game-changer for entrepreneurs and SMEs.
Getresponse recently introduced the ability to sponsor webinars on the platform.
Given that webinars are usually used as a lead-generation strategy, the idea of getting your email database along with your webinar tool under the same roof is extremely attractive.
The pricing is also very competitive too by comparison to based webinar solutions. For example, one of the leading webinar services, Gotowebinar, charges $199 per month to sponsor webinars with as much as 500 attendees; you can actually do the same (and a great deal more) with Getresponse for $165 (as long as your listing size is below 25,000).
With respect to attendee limits, the Getresponse’Pro’ program permits you to host a webinar with around 100 participants; the’Max’ plan’s cap is 500.
You might even buy webinars performance as a add on to a more affordable plan: $40 a month buys you a 100 attendees limit, $99 a month buys you a 500 attendees restrict. It isn’t clear what your options are if you will need to host bigger scale webinars than that however.
Two or Three Getresponse webinar features worth flagging up as being particularly useful are:
The very fact that your attendees do not need to install any applications to attend the webinars
one-click list of your webinars
free online storage for playback files
Ultimately webinar performance is potentially a very helpful feature to have sitting on your e-marketing arsenal and its inclusion as a characteristic provides Getresponse a very significant advantage over its key competitors, particularly when you believe that you can connect it in with a built in CRM tool (more on this in a minute ). The email deliverability rate – the proportion of e-newsletters delivered that successfully reach inboxes – is obviously an important thing to check at when choosing an email marketing tool.
Not all email advertising providers are that forthright in their deliverability prices; but Getresponse seems pretty open about that, with this to say about it on their website:
At GetResponse we are frequently asked about the quality of our deliverability rate. Since deliverability depends on a number of factors, including the content of your messages, the deliverability rate could vary for every mailing. For all our clients jointly, however, we’re pleased to say our general deliverability rate currently stands at 99%.
Clearly you’re going to have to choose the organization’s term for this, but assuming it’s true, it’s a good speed and inspires confidence that the vast majority of emails that you send using Getresponse will reach their receivers.
What’s more, Getresponse really gives you the deliverability rate of every message in your email analytics – that is something that I haven’t struck on rival goods’ metrics. A thumbs up for it.
I really do need to pull Getresponse up on something concerning deliverability nevertheless: to ensure a high deliverability speed, it is a good idea to use a platform called DKIM email authentication. You are able to use DKIM using Getresponse – but just on the more expensive Getresponse’Max’ plans.
Although I have not struck any deliverability difficulties using the cheaper plans, competing products don’t force you to invest in a more expensive plan to avail of this feature — it’d be useful to see Getresponse becoming more generous here.
There are two methods you can employ to add subscribers to a mailing list: using a’only opt-in’ or a’double click’ process.
If you utilize a single opt-in procedure, the individual signing up to your mailing list is added to a mailing list the minute they hit the submit button on your sign up form.
With a double opt-in procedure, the person signing up to your record is sent via an email containing a confirmation link that s/he must click before being subscribed.
The most important benefit of a single opt-in process is that it makes it very simple for users to subscribe to your mailing list; additionally, it generally increases conversion speed and therefore the amount of readers on your record. A dual opt-in process is best for verifying the people subscribing to a record are using actual email addresses and leads to cleaner information and more precise stats (because receptive rates etc. are calculated according to a list comprising only email addresses).
Now, the fantastic news is that Getresponse permits you to make use of either opt-in approach – this is not true with all competing goods. So a thumbs up for Getresponse for being flexible on this.
You are probably thinking that this sounds quite good — but to be honest, I think there’s a lot of room for improvement with respect to Getresponse form templates.
For a start, they are not responsive (i.e., they won’t resize themselves automatically to suit the device they’re being viewed on).
Furthermore, no controllers are provided by Getresponse to switch forms on or off on particular devices or pages of your website. In the light of Google’s brand new approach to pop-ups (where websites can take a hit in search results if they display’intrusive interstitials’ on mobile devices) this is a bit of a concern.
To get around this, I generally avoid using Getresponse form templates, and make do with HTML embeded forms which I style myself, and also for popups I link my Getresponse to some growth-hacking tool named Sumo (that enables me to switch pop-ups off for cellular users, in addition to display forms exactly as I’d love to and on the pages I want). Overall, Getresponse is pretty straightforward to use. It’s certainly easy enough to perform all of the basics: import contacts, create campaigns, set up autoresponders and check numbers and the interface is really intuitive and clean.
With regards to how it stacks up against its rivals in this respect, I’d assert that Campaign Monitor is a little bit more user friendly, and Mailchimp has a slicker user interface (though one which makes locating certain performance just a little bit tricky at times).
One area I feel that might be significantly better in the user-friendliness point of view is the Getresponse e-newsletter editor.
Whilst its drag-and-drop approach does in theory provide an extremely flexible approach to create blocks of articles and move them about an e-newsletter, in practice it’s quite user friendly to use and may cause accidental deletion of material, or positioning of it at the incorrect part of the e-newsletter.
If you can get your head around it, and practice using it a little bit, it will result in a useful tool – it’s only that the implementation of it might be rather better.
Also, as described above, the CRM tool could be far better from a usability point of view adding contacts to deals could be difficult.
The 30-day free trial which Getresponse supplies is completely operational and the free trial isn’t contingent upon supplying credit card information.
This helps you avoid that annoying”oops I forgot I signed up for this particular trial and now I am getting charged for a product that I do not use” scenario.
The only down side to the free trial is that it restricts the number of subscribers you can send to 1000. It would be good if that could be increased a bit, as it would help potential users try the tool out in more’real world’ situations.
There are three chief types of Getresponse pricing plan -‘Email’,’Pro’ and’Max’ — and within each of them, many additional types of strategy to choose from (all based on list size).
As much as 1,000 subscribers: $15 (‘Email’) / $49 (‘Guru’) / $165 (‘Max’)
1,001 to 2,500 readers: $25 (‘Email’) / $49 (‘Guru’) / $165 (‘Max’)
2,501 to 5,000 readers: $45 (‘Email’) / $49 (‘Guru’) / $165 (‘Max’)
5,001 to 10,000 readers: $65 (‘Email’)/ $75 (‘Guru’) / $165 (‘Max’)
10,001 to 25,000 subscribers: $145 (‘Email’) / $165 (‘Guru’) / $255 (‘Max’)
25,001 to 50,000 readers: $250 (‘Email’) / $280 (‘Guru’) / $370 (‘Max’)
50,001 to 100,000 subscribers: $450 (‘Email’) / $490 (‘Guru’) / $580 (‘Max’
Additionally there is an”Enterprise” program for users that our lists exceed 100,000 email addresses: that begins at $1199, using accurate pricing based on prerequisites (if you are interested in the”Enterprise” program, you’ll want to contact Getresponse to schedule a presentation, outline your needs and share pricing).
Significant discounts are available if you pay upfront for 12 or 24 weeks of service (18% and 30% respectively) — those are considerably more generous than many competing platforms. Email Marketing Design Software Free Download
Distinctions of Every Plan
Each of the Getresponse plans cover the important fundamentals — key features include:
The capacity to import, grow and host an email database
a wide Assortment of templates
responsive email layouts
RSS / blog to-email functionality
comprehensive segmentation alternatives
social sharing tools
There are a number of differences between the’Email’,’Pro’ and’Max’ plans but for me the key ones are:
CRM – Getresponse provides a customer relationship manager tool on its own’Pro’ plans up
landing pages – you can only avail of all landing pages which enable split testing and boundless views if you are on a’Pro’ plan or higher
Webinars – that functionality isn’t available whatsoever around the’Email’ strategy and the amount of webinar attendees is restricted for the’Guru’ and’Max’ programs at 100, 500 respectively (it is uncertain what the limit is about the’Enterprise’ program ).
Users – you can only have one user account on the’Email’ program; by comparison you get 3 on’Guru’, 5 ‘Max’ and 10 on’Enterprise’.
Pricing Vs Competitors
So long as you’re happy to use one of the entry-level’Email’ programs, the pay-per-month Getresponse plans are on the whole more affordable than those provided by many of its key competitors, especially in case you’ve got a reasonably high number of email addresses onto your database.
By way of instance, if you’ve got a mailing list comprising between 9,000 and 10,000 records which you want to send an infinite number of emails each month to, then you’ll discover that hosting it with Getresponse prices $65 per month.
$4 a month more affordable than with Aweber
$10 cheaper a month than Mailchimp
$84 per month cheaper than Campaign Monitor*
* Campaign Monitor’s pricing structure is dependent not only the amount of email addresses in your own database however on the number of emails you send per month also. If you’re happy to set a limit on the number of mails delivered via Campaign Monitor (in the case above, to 50k emails), you can expect to pay a monthly fee of $89, still substantially greater than Getresponse’s.
The sole well-known service I can think of that comes in significantly more affordable is Mad Mimi, which charges $42 a month to sponsor up to 10,000 email addresses (note however that the performance offered by Mad Mimi is nowhere near as extensive as Getresponse’s or indeed the other products mentioned previously ).
It’s also worth pointing out that Mailchimp offers thinner pricing bands, meaning that based on the size of your list, it may occasionally be a slightly cheaper alternative than Getresponse.
In the smaller database end of things, Getresponse’s pricing is pretty competitive too – you can host a database containing 1,000 email addresses for $15 a month using Getresponse, compared to $29 with Aweber; $59 on Campaign Monitor (unlimited send).
Mailchimp’s monthly fee for a 1,000 record database will be the like Getresponse’s; and Mad Mimi provides a slightly more affordable, if less operational offering for $12 per month.
Two final things to be Conscious of on the pricing :
Some competing suppliers — especially Mailchimp – provide free account for users with a few documents (but these do not supply the entire range of features that you get on a paid program ).
As mentioned earlier, if you are ready to pay upfront for 1 or 2 decades, you can avail of significant discounts the other competitors don’t yet provide.
So the most important thing is that Getresponse is pretty competitive in the pricing section. However, what about features? Email Marketing Design Software Free Download
Getresponse represents among the more cost-effective ways to host and communicate using an email .
It is also one of the most interesting products of its type – because it provides email marketing, landing pages, CRM and webinars all under a single roof. It’s difficult to consider any competing product that offers this’all round’ proposal, and it is what continues to convince us to use it for Style Factory’s email advertising.
Some improvements to Getresponse do have to be made however, especially where the email programmer is concerned – its drag and drop interface is much more fiddly and not as responsive than it ought to be. A lot of improvements can be made into the data capture types also, particularly for consumers wanting to exhibit them on mobile devices.
And from what I gather from reader opinions, there are developments that could be made to the service offering.
All in all though I rate Getresponse very highly – you receive substantial bang for your buck with this product.
Listed below are a Couple of pros and cons of using Getresponse overall:
Advantages of Getresponse
Excellent marketing automation choices.
The CRM performance integrates neatly with Getresponse’s email automation operation.
Provided that you’re happy to utilize an’Email’ program, Getresponse is cheaper than most of its key competitors (in certain situations, substantially so) whilst supplying as much, if not more performance as them.
The reductions you receive when paying for a couple of years of service are very generous – you will be hard pushed to find comparable reductions in costs from key competitors.
Its webinar functionality is a USP – something which isn’t provided by any similar products.
Its reporting and thorough split testing features are powerful.
Getresponse is clear regarding deliverability rates, publishing figures on its website and providing deliverability data for individual e-newsletters that you send.
It offers an extremely flexible approach to data segmentation – more elastic than many competing goods.
It allows you to add subscribers to your mailing list on either a single-opt in and also a double opt-in basis.
It sends emails that are reactive and allows you to preview smartphone variations of your e-newsletters really easily.
It includes a useful landing page creator – but bear in mind you need to be on a more expensive strategy to get the fully functional version of the.
You are able to test out all its features free for 30 days without needing to input credit card details.
Disadvantages of Getresponse
The drag and drop interface for designing mails can be a little bit on the side.
The information capture forms supplied aren’t responsive and you can’t control when and in which they’re displayed on your website.
CRM functionality needs to be improved considerably before it can be thought of as a substitute for a standalone CRM product.
There’s a limited selection of RSS-to-HTML e-newsletter templates supplied.
You can only use’web-safe’ fonts from e-newsletters, which can make the templates seem marginally less slick than those provided by competing products.
The pricing arrangement is a bit confusing, with users having to pay something of a premium to access the landing page creator tool.
The free trial limits the amount of subscribers you’ll be able to send messages to to 1000.
The landing page add-on does not let you execute A/B evaluations, meaning that so as to gain this functionality you’re forced to use a more expensive plan than you might like.
DKIM authentication is only available on the more expensive’Max’ plans.
No telephone service is provided. Email Marketing Design Software Free Download
