Like most email advertising providers these days, You’ll Need to Go through a review process before being able to properly use the software.
When you first sign up, you’ll be asked to complete your profile.
This includes information such as your organization name, site, Business, address, business size, record size and also the type of content you plan to send.
Then, you need to confirm your Website (or domain name).
This remains part of the approval process, and MailerLite will Simply ask which email is related to that domain in order that they could email you a confirmation link.
As Soon as You’ve completed those Steps, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite team will review your application, check your Website, and determine whether you are a good fit for their services.
(Quite simply, they’re making sure you are not a spammer/scammer)
As revealed above, you’ll still be Able to utilize the software to create campaigns and play with the attributes, but you will not have the ability to send anything until accepted.
I was”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limit of 500 subscribers.
Here’s what the email said:
But while these steps aren’t ideal for getting started, it Does help prevent malicious users from damaging everybody’s deliverability.
If you are anything like me, you’ll rely upon automations to Deal with Nearly all your email marketing.
(We will get to automations shortly, do not worry.)
But if it is a new blog post, podcast, or timely Announcement, there is always some excuse to send a more instant email.
That is where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the brand new’Create Campaign’ will provide you several options.
– Regular campaign: A traditional broadcast email.
– A/B split campaign: Multiple email Variations, such as subject line, from title and, yes, even email content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to subscribers who Do not start your broadcast email, together with the option of changing the subject line and email content.
– RSS effort: Create a recurring campaign That sends new content to subscribers using your site’s RSS feed.
Aside from a few additional choices, most of these will follow The exact same step-by-step process of a normal effort.
So let us walk you through it.
Once you click on to create your campaign, you’ll be asked to Pick a preferred editor, whether that’s the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
Otherwise, you can switch to the Templates tab and choose from among their pre-designed email templates — that will move you into the dragn’ drop editor by default.
In the time of writing, there are 21 email templates to select From which is somewhat on the low side, but the layouts are super modern.
And, of course, if you would just Like to reuse a previous email, you can click the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this example, I’ll select the first template in the library.
The editor is easy to work with, Making customizing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also use the blocks in the sidebar to add different Types of content to your email, including videos, product columns, and societal connections.
After making your changes, simply click’Done Editing’ and you’ll Be taken to the recipients’ choices where you are able to choose your groups or sections.
The advanced tab also allows one To develop segment-like rules , in case your targeting isn’t quite right.
Finally, right before sending, then you’ll get to the’Program’ screen.
This is where you control if your broadcast email should go Out, if that’s instantly, at a set time/date, or in accordance with your subscribers time zones.
Impressive, right? Email Marketing Companies In Sri Lanka
Managing Your Clients
Having granular control over your subscribers is arguably one of The most important facets of any email marketing program now.
Because highly personalized campaigns are necessary if You are looking to increase opens, clicks, and, most importantly, your own conversions.
And while most providers Permit You to”tag” subscribers in order To target them more effectively, MailerLite utilizes a slightly different strategy.
When you open up your subscriber dash, you’ll notice two Choices; Segments and Groups.
Segments are essentially rules.
Your subscribers belong to a section only when they meet the Specified principles, and are automatically inserted or removed accordingly.
Here is what setting up a rule looks like:
Notice the way you can even blend Rules, as well as an alternate rule when the first doesn’t exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The following tab is for groups, and also the difference in title, These behave much like your usual”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the title to’Tags’, but finally decided against it.)
Contrary to Segments, Groups are upgraded manually or via an Automation principle — that we’ll get to in a minute — and they don’t have any value aside from what you call them.
As you Begin to use this stage, you’ll begin to understand At which Segments and Groups are generally used, however, MailerLite offers a hand in the event you’re unsure:
Fundamentally, groups are much more of a Deliberate activity on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments allow you to bulge multiple subscribers together based on a common denominator.
A tad confusing, I will admit… but I believe it’s a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. In any case, they’re optional.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to customize your email copy.
You will notice that MailerLite has Already populated this area with their particular fields, such as name, business, and nation.
If You Would like to create your own custom fields, you can do so by Clicking on the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they really work?
You can either upload a CSV record of your subscribers together with Your custom field data in distinct columns… or can simply add these fields to your types which will only apply to future subscribers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I created and added to a form:
I will not go too much to the shape Stuff here since I have an entire section on this below, but this is the strategy I’d recommend if you wanted to use this attribute.
Again, as Soon as You’ve collected your custom field information from fresh Subscribers, you are able to pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click on the’Personalization’ drop down and choose your Custom field.
I am barely scratching the surface Of what is possible with custom fields, but it is important to understand that this is a feature you can use.
Overall, it’s fair to say MailerLite has their contributor Management and personalization features on point. Email Marketing Companies In Sri Lanka
If you’re not impressed with what you’ve seen up to Now, then perhaps The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After selecting’Landing Pages’ in the forms page, you will be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template choice Is not winning any awards, but it does offer a great base to work from if, for example the majority of us, you do not have that natural eye for layout.
I went ahead and chosen the’Lead Generation’ template, though They all finally do the same task; collect an email address.
This time, the editor will Provide you 17 building blocks to Further build or change your landing page.
Now, I’ve used my fair share of Visual site builders, and this is already better than a few dedicated solutions *cough* WPBakery.
Along with the basic building blocks, you can use components like Hero segments, popup buttons, testimonials and countdown timers.
No, it will not be replacing landing Page builders such as Thrive Architect or LeadPagesanytime shortly, but credit where credit due, this thing over-delivers on all three form types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email marketing tools, MailerLite really offers a Adequate pair of form building tools.
Also, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this exact same interface, so there’s a lot to cover .
Let us begin with your Bog-standard embedded form.
These forms are first created inside MailerLite in order to get An embed code, which you can then put on your website to show it on specific pages.
Despite starting off super basic, the form designer allows you To personalize everything in the kind style, fields, background, name, input fields and, clearly, the button.
Form text may also be edited directly, which gives you a Opportunity To envision your own copy in real-time.
It would have been nice to have Some templates here, but as you know, there is more to a form than simply its physical appearance.
Clicking the’Settings’ tab will Make It Possible for you to configure how the Form functions, including adding extra fields and setting a custom success page.
(There is a GDPR compliance option. Sweet.)
And talking of the success page…
…MailerLite also lets you customize the default message, That will replace the embedded form and prevents users .
Last but certainly not least, you Can assess how your form displays on mobile by switching the toggle to reactive mode.
You won’t be able to make any design changes here, but it makes Sense to test, nevertheless.
So that is an overview of this Embedded form but as I said before, you can even create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the majority of the setup process is identical, you will find A few differences I’d like to point out.
Unlike embedded forms, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most Comprehensive choice, they do offer a good foundation to work from and the editor is just as easy to use for this form type.
Clicking the’E-commerce’ template takes me to a preview Before moving into the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are a few new options under form types This time around:
Considering paid tools like Thrive Leads exist for ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to observe this level of control over popup forms.
And, like before, you can play with the styling options to get it Matched up with your own branding.
Finally, you can Select the near Behaviour of your form under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is the X icon, but you can swap this out for A”No thanks” text choice, or have both.
That is where most email Marketing platforms will leave you, but MailerLite has one more trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your campaign Data in the dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from effort open and click info, Subscriber development, automation analytics, and form signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you specific reporting for this campaign.
This is where you’ll find some more advanced statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, studying environment, email client and much more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary user…
…but in Case You really want To dig into the numbers, you can click into different areas of the report for a more comprehensive breakdown.
You can find some real gems beneath These reports.
By Way of Example, the’View Email’ tab also shows a click map, so It’s possible to see how your readers interacted to another.
Reports for automations will also be Available under the’Automations’ tab, although I found these to be less insightful than effort reports.
Here’s a Fast example:
Total, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting interface, and many will get the available data more than sufficient to fulfill their demands.
What’s email marketing with no dashboard of automation?
For many reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could easily make or break this review.
The good news? If you have ever used a visual workflow builder, then You’ll instantly feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, That the automations interface is simple, clean and simple to navigate — something which certainly can not be said for every email advertising software.
After establishing your trigger, you can Start adding measures to your workflow.
These measures could be anything from sending an email, adding a Postpone, a bubble break, or an act, like moving a contributor or updating their records.
Here’s a simple workflow I put together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed when they don’t open my email within seven days.
There are innumerable Possibilities when it comes to workflow automations like this, and MailerLite should have no trouble with the huge majority of use cases.
Granted, it’s not quite as Feature-rich as something such as ActiveCampaign since it lacks some of the conditional components. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.. )
For example, there’s now no automation for transferring Subscribers directly into another automation.
That being said, the Majority of these actions can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into various classes that activate new automation workflows. It’s just not as efficient…. yet.
Another matter of efficacy here is when creating new emails From the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email block to The workflow, you will be asked to put in your subject line which appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking on the’Design email’ button will automatically fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be briefly Redirected to the typical campaign creation wizard, which I covered previously in the review.
This time, however, as Soon as You’ve created your email, clicking the ‘Done editing’ button will guide you straight back to the automations workflow rather than the usual sending alternatives.
Finally, your email will be Loaded into your own automation.
A Wonderful touch here is using a thumbnail preview of your Email within your automation cube, which means you can get an idea about what it contains at a glance.
While this procedure may seem like A grind on newspaper, it’s actually much faster than what I am used to with other email advertising tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something such as ConvertKit where The editor is loaded within the automations builder, you will likely find this a downgrade in functionality.
It’s fast enough for me, Personally, but I guess it’s all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there’s one type of automation You won’t find in MailerLite, and that I think it’s very important to highlight.
The ability to activate an automation (or measure ) based on how Readers interact with the pages on your site.
This Sort of behavioral targeting just is not accessible MailerLite right now, so if it’s something you use or plan to use, you might want to skip this one. Email Marketing Companies In Sri Lanka
The cost of MailerLite is no doubt among those tools largest Selling things, and let’s face it, we all love a fantastic bargain.
For starters, they offer an infinite free plan that includes All attributes (including premium) to get up to 1,000 subscribers.
While there is some subtle Branding on your emails using this plan, it is still an wonderful option for anyone starting out.
And what about the premium programs?
It ends up, at approximately half the Price of the competition generally, MailerLite is by far one of the least expensive options on the industry. Plus, if you’re willing to pay yearly, you are also able to get an even better discount.
In Reality, I haven’t been able to locate anything that does exactly the same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of those very few advertising tools The (very crowded) industry in the last couple of years, and that’s no easy feat.
While it’s not as quickly as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it works exceptionally well at just about anything you can throw at it.
Overall, I find MailerLite strikes the perfect balance Between flexibility, simplicity and speed, and all at a price point you’ll seriously struggle to beat.
