Intro Elite Email
If I asked you to name an email Marketing tool, what would you say? Elite Email
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?
Like many online industries now, email marketing has been Dominated by the identical big players for the last ten years. Which means they get encouraged very deeply and achieve a great deal of mindshare.
Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the market, inducing long-time customers to question their loyalties.
MailerLite has done exactly that.
So now, in this review, I will be tearing MailerLite from limb To limb to see if it really stands its ground against the big boys…
…and, what’s more, whether youshould consider making the change.

Like most email advertising providers Nowadays, You’ll Need to Go through a review process before being able to properly use the software.
When you first sign up, you’ll be asked to complete your profile.
This includes information like your organization name, site, Business, address, company size, list size and also the kind of material you plan to send.
Then, You Have to verify your Website (or domain ).
This is still part of the acceptance process, and MailerLite will Simply inquire which email is related to this domain so they can email you a confirmation link.
Once you’ve completed those Measures, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite staff will review your application, check your Website, and determine whether you’re a good fit for their services.
(In other words, they’re making sure you’re not a spammer/scammer)
As shown above, you’ll still be Able to utilize the software to create campaigns and perform with the features, but you won’t have the ability to send anything until approved.
I was”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limitation of 500 subscribers.
Here Is What the email said:
But while these measures are not perfect for getting started, it Does help stop unscrupulous users from hurting everyone else’s deliverability.
If you are anything like me, you’ll rely on automations to Deal with Nearly all your email marketing.
(We’ll get to automations shortly, don’t worry.)
But if it is a brand new blog post, podcast, or timely Announcement, there’s always a reason to send a more immediate email.
That’s where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the new’Produce Campaign’ will give you several choices.
– Regular effort: A traditional broadcast email.
– A/B split campaign: Multiple email Variations, including subject line, from title and, yes, even email content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to subscribers who Do not open your broadcast email, with the option of changing the subject line and email articles.
– RSS campaign: Create a recurring campaign That sends fresh content to subscribers using your website’s RSS feed.
Apart from a few additional options, the Majority of these will follow The exact same step-by-step procedure of a normal effort.
So let’s walk you through it.
Once you click to create your effort, you’ll be asked to Select a favorite editor, whether that be the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
Otherwise, you can change to the Templates tab and choose from among the pre-designed email templates — which will move you to the dragn’ drop editor by default.
In the time of writing, there are 21 email templates to choose From which is somewhat on the low side, however, the designs are super contemporary.
And, of course, if you’d just Prefer to reuse a previous email, you can click the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this instance, I will select the first template in the library.
The editor is easy to work with, Which makes customizing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also use the blocks in the sidebar to include distinct Types of content to your email, such as videos, product columns, and societal connections.
After making your adjustments, simply click’Done Editing’ and you’ll Be carried to the recipients’ options where you are able to choose your groups or segments.
The tab also allows you To develop segment-like rules on-the-fly, in the event your targeting isn’t quite right.
Finally, right before sending, then you’ll get to the’Schedule’ screen.
This is where you control if your broadcast email should go Out, if that’s immediately, at a set time/date, or in accordance with your subscribers time zones.
Impressive, right? Elite Email
Managing Your Clients
Possessing granular control over your readers is arguably among The most important facets of any email advertising program now.
Because highly personalized campaigns are necessary if You’re searching to increase opens, clicks, and, most importantly, your conversions.
And while many providers allow you to”label” subscribers in order To target them more effectively, MailerLite uses a slightly different approach.
When you start up your subscriber dash, you’ll notice two Choices; Segments and Groups.
Segments are basically principles.
Your subscribers belong to a segment only when they meet the Specified rules, and are automatically added or eliminated accordingly.
Here’s what establishing a rule looks like:
Notice how you can also blend Rules, as well as another rule when the first doesn’t exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The next tab is for classes, and despite the difference in name, These act much like your normal”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the title to’Tags’, but ultimately decided against it.)
Contrary to Segments, Groups are updated manually or via an Automation rule — which we will get to in a minute — and they don’t have any value besides what you call them.
As you Begin to use this platform, you’ll begin to understand At which Segments and Groups are generally used, but MailerLite delivers a hand in the event you’re unsure:
Fundamentally, groups are more of a Deliberate action on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments allow you to bulge multiple subscribers collectively based on a frequent denominator.
A tad confusing, I’ll admit… but I believe it’s a fair trade-off For the added flexibility. In any case, they are discretionary.
Finally, the’Fields’ tab is used to customize your email copy.
You’ll notice that MailerLite has Already populated this area with their particular areas, such as title, business, and country.
If you want to create your own custom fields, you can do this by Clicking the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they really work?
You can either upload a CSV file of your subscribers together with Your custom field data in separate columns… or may simply add these fields to your forms which will only apply to prospective subscribers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test area I made and added into a form:
I won’t go too much to the form Stuff here since I have an entire section on that below, but this is the approach I would recommend if you wished to use this attribute.
Again, once you’ve collected your custom field information from new Subscribers, you can pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click the’Personalization’ drop down and choose your Custom field.
I’m barely scraping the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it is important that you understand that this is a feature you can use.
Overall, it’s fair to say MailerLite has their contributor Direction and personalization features on stage. Elite Email
If you’re not impressed by what you have seen up to Now, then maybe The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After selecting’Landing Pages’ in the forms page, then you will be Able to select from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template choice Isn’t winning any awards, it does offer a fantastic foundation to work from if, like the majority people, you don’t have that natural eye for layout.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, however They ultimately do the same job; collect an email address.
This time, the editor will give you 17 building blocks to Further build or change your landing page.
Now, I’ve used my fair share of Visual site builders, and this is better than a few dedicated solutions *Infection * WPBakery.
Together with the basic building blocks, you can use components like Hero segments, popup buttons, reviews and countdown timers.
No, it won’t be replacing landing Page builders like Thrive Architect or LeadPagesanytime soon, but credit where credit due, this thing over-delivers on all 3 kind types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite really Provides a Adequate set of type building tools.
Also, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this exact same interface, so there’s a whole lot to cover .
Let us begin with your Bog-standard embedded type.
These forms are created inside MailerLite so as to get An embed code, which you can then put on your site to display it on specific pages.
Despite beginning super basic, the form designer lets you To customize everything from the kind style, fields, background, name, input fields and, clearly, the button.
Form text can also be edited directly, which gives you a chance To envision your own copy in real-time.
It would have been nice to have Some templates here, but as you know, there is more to a form than simply its physical appearance.
Clicking on the’Settings’ tab will allow you to configure the way the Form functions, including adding additional fields and establishing a custom success page.
(There’s even a GDPR compliance option. Sweet.)
And speaking of the success webpage…
…MailerLite also lets you customize the default message, Which can replace the embedded kind also prevents users .
Last but surely not least, you Can check how your form screens on mobile by shifting the toggle to reactive mode.
You won’t Have the Ability to make any layout changes here, but it makes Sense to check, nevertheless.
So that’s an Summary of the Embedded form but as I said before, you may also create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the majority of this installation process is identical, there are A few differences I’d love to point out.
Unlike embedded kinds, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most Comprehensive choice, they do offer a good base to work from and the editor is at least as easy to use for this form kind.
Clicking the’E-commerce’ template takes me into a preview Before moving into the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new choices under form types Now around:
Contemplating paid tools such as Thrive Leads exist for both ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to see this amount of control over popup forms.
And, as before, you can play with the styling options to get it Matched with your branding.
Finally, you can Select the near Behavior of your type under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is the X icon, but you can swap out this for A”No thanks” text choice, or have .
This is really where most email Marketing platforms would leave you, but MailerLite has yet another trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like most tools, you’ll find a summary of your effort Data in the dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from campaign open and click info, Subscriber development, automation analytics, and form signups.
Clicking into any effort will Give you special coverage for this effort.
This is where you’ll find a few more advanced statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading surroundings, email client and much more.
This should be plenty of Information for the average consumer…
…but in Case You really want To dig into the numbers, you can click into different areas of the report for a more comprehensive breakdown.
You can find some real gems beneath These reports.
By Way of Example, the’View Mail’ tab also displays a click map, so You can see your readers interacted to one another.
Reports for automations are also Available under the’Automations’ tab, even though I found these to be less enlightening than effort reports.
Here’s a Fast example:
Total, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting port, and many will get the available statistics more than sufficient to fulfill their needs.
What is email advertising with no dashboard of automation?
For most reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this review.
The great news? If you’ve ever used a visual workflow builder, then You will immediately feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, That the automations interface is easy, clean and simple to navigate — something which certainly can not be said for each and every email advertising software.
After setting your trigger, you can Start adding steps to your workflow.
These measures can be anything from sending an email, including a Postpone, a conditional split, or an action, like moving a subscriber or upgrading their records.
Here’s a simple workflow I put together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed when they don’t open my email within seven days.
There are innumerable Possibilities in regards to workflow automations similar to this, and MailerLite ought to have no trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it’s not quite as Feature-rich as something such as ActiveCampaign because it lacks a number of the conditional components. (Split, Go To, Goal, etc.. )
For Instance, there’s currently no automation for transferring Readers directly into another automation.
That being said, the Majority of these actions can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into different groups that activate new automation workflows. It is just not as efficient…. yet.
Another question of efficacy here is when generating new mails In the automation workflow builder.
After having an email block to The workflow, you’ll be asked to add your subject line that then appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking the’Design email’ button will fire up the Editor:
Now, you’ll be temporarily Redirected to the standard campaign creation wizard, which I covered earlier in the critique.
This time, however, once you’ve created your email, clicking on the ‘Done editing’ button will guide you straight back to the automations workflow instead of the usual sending options.
Finally, your email address will probably be Loaded into your automation.
A nice touch here is having a thumbnail preview of your Email within your automation block, so it’s possible to find an idea of what it contains at a glance.
While this procedure may seem like A grind on newspaper, it’s really much faster than what I’m used to with other email advertising tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something like ConvertKit where The editor is loaded within the automations builder, you will probably find this a downgrade in performance.
It is quick enough for me, Personally, but I guess it is all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there’s one Kind of automation You won’t find in MailerLite, and that I think it’s important to highlight.
The ability to activate an automation (or measure ) based on how Subscribers interact with the pages on your website.
This Sort of behavioral targeting only is not available in MailerLite right now, so if it’s something you use or intend to utilize, you may want to skip this one. Elite Email
The cost of MailerLite is among those tools largest Selling things, and let’s face it, we all love a good deal.
For starters, they offer an unlimited free plan that includes All attributes (including premium) to get as many as 1,000 subscribers.
While There’s some subtle Branding on your emails using this plan, it is still an amazing alternative for anyone starting out.
And what about the top plans?
It turns out, at approximately half the Price of this competition on average, MailerLite is by far among the least expensive options on the industry. Plus, if you’re willing to pay annually, you can also get a much greater discount.
In fact, I haven’t been able to locate anything that does the same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of the very few advertising tools The (very crowded) sector in recent decades, and that’s no easy feat.
While it’s not as fast as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it works exceptionally well at virtually anything you can throw at it.
I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, speed and simplicity, and at a price point you’ll seriously struggle to conquer.
Thinking about giving it a spin? Let us know how it works for you From the remarks. Elite Email
