Also, and above all, you can not use the landing page A/B testing performance on the cheapest Getresponse program (where the machine shows a sample of your users different variations of your landing page, computes conversion rates, and finally rolls out the best performing landing page automatically).
If you’re serious about landing pages – plus they’re unquestionably a useful feature – then it is definitely worth considering among the more expensive Getresponse plans.

The most glaring omission is email activity tracking. There is currently no method of doing so with the Getresponse CRM, nor is there an easy way to send one-to-one emails to leads or clients.
And strangely, when you click on a contact in a bargain pipeline, you can’t see their contact activity — i.e., the activities they’ve taken (open, clicks etc.) with regard to previous communications which you’ve sent to your prospects aren’t displayed. To observe this, you have to go from the CRM part of Getresponse, search for your contact in the contacts section and click on their details. But guess what? Doing this does not exhibit their history.
Task management is non-existent too: Unlike committed CRM tools, there’s no way to assign tasks to other group members.
Finally, adding contacts into your pipeline stage is tough. You need to add contacts to a list first, then go to the CRM pipeline, add a bargain and search your lists to receive the contact you just added. From a usability standpoint this is extremely clunky and time consuming. You should just have the ability to put in a deal directly to a pipeline and then enter the contact details of your guide or client at the point.
So as things stand, the Getresponse CRM is somewhat half-baked. But that said, it is a new feature and the things it can do on the automation aspect is remarkable. I’m hopeful that this attribute gets developed over time since done right, it is potentially a game-changer for entrepreneurs and SMEs.

Whilst its drag-and-drop approach does in theory provide an extremely flexible way to make blocks of articles and move them about an e-newsletter, in practice it’s quite user friendly to use and can lead to accidental deletion of material, or placement of it in the incorrect part of the e-newsletter.
If you’re able to get your head about it, and practice using it a bit, it does make for a useful tool – it is just that the implementation of it might be somewhat better.
Also, as explained above, the CRM tool could be better from a usability point of view — adding contacts to deals could be difficult.
The 30-day free trial which Getresponse provides is completely functional and the free trial isn’t contingent upon supplying credit card information.
This helps you avoid that annoying”oops I forgot I signed up for that trial and now I am getting charged for a product I do not use” scenario.
The only down side to the free trial is that it restricts the amount of readers you can send to to 1000. It would be good if this could be increased a little, as it might help potential users try the tool out in more’real world’ scenarios.

The sole well-known service that I could think of that comes from considerably cheaper is Mad Mimi, which costs $42 per month to host up to 10,000 email addresses (note however that the functionality offered by Mad Mimi is nowhere near as broad as Getresponse’s or really the other products mentioned previously ).
It’s also worth pointing out that Mailchimp offers thinner pricing bands, meaning that based on how big your listing, it may sometimes be a slightly cheaper option than Getresponse.
At the smaller database end of things, Getresponse’s pricing is really competitive too – you can sponsor a database comprising 1,000 email addresses for $15 per month using Getresponse, compared to $29 with Aweber; $59 on Campaign Monitor (unlimited send).
Mailchimp’s monthly fee for a 1,000 recording database will be exactly the like Getresponse’s; and Mad Mimi provides a slightly cheaper, if much less functional offering for $12 a month.

Some improvements to Getresponse do have to be made however, particularly where the email designer is concerned – its own drag and drop interface is much more fiddly and not as responsive than it should be. A good deal of improvements can be made to the data capture forms too, especially for consumers wishing to exhibit them on mobile devices.
And from what I gather from reader feedback, there are improvements that could be made into the service offering.
