Getresponse’s feature set is arguably among the most comprehensive on the market.

The question is whether Getresponse is a jack of all trades and master of not – let’s drill down into the key features to learn.
Up until very recently Getresponse service was amongst the most comprehensive available for email marketing tools: the company offered phone service alongside live chat support, email service and various online tutorials / resources.

Furthermore, you will find tons of templates to choose from — over 500 — and they’re presented in easy-to-understand classes, therefore it’s generally pretty simple to locate a good starting point for a template and then edit it until you’re delighted with the design.

This type of performance goes far beyond what’s traditionally been on offer from autoresponders, and allows you to create an individual journey which may be customised to the nth degree.

Landing page Builder

Additionally, and very importantly, you can not utilize the landing page A/B testing functionality on the least expensive Getresponse plan (whereby the machine shows a sample of your customers different variations of your landing page, calculates conversion rates, and ultimately rolls out the best performing landing page mechanically ).
If you’re serious about landing pages – plus they are unquestionably a useful attribute – then it is definitely worth looking at among the more expensive Getresponse plans.
You can purchase the Landing Pages feature as an add-on to get an extra $15 a month, but quite frustratingly, although the add-on allows you to show an infinite number of landing pages to potential subscribers, it doesn’t include A/B testing.
Therefore, if I had been interested in the Getresponse landing page performance, I would not bother with this fairly half-baked add-on: I’d just go for one of the pricier programs (which I guess is what Getresponse would like you to do) .
Getresponse was before its rivals for quite a while using its responsive email design performance, which automatically adjusts your e-newsletter’s template so that when an individual is reading it onto a mobile device, the layout and fonts will be optimized for the device in question.

Among the most frustrating aspects of using many well-known CRM tools is the need to export information to CSV and back into your email marketing instrument in order to perform mailouts (or the necessity to export info from the email marketing tool into your CRM to add prospects to it).
So when I saw Getresponse lately introducing a new CRM feature in their plans I had been intrigued – this could possibly do away with all that data exporting and exporting, and keep everything neatly in 1 place.
Initially I was not that impressed with the Getresponse CRM tool since you could only use it in order to carry out rather basic jobs: you can create sales pipelines, add contacts to them and monitor activity (mails, phone calls etc.) with those contacts manually.

However, it is not all fantastic news on the CRM front — there are some big things missing from Getresponse’s CRM feature collection.
The most glaring omission is e mail activity tracking. Additional CRM packages permit you to bcc a dropbox email address whenever you send an email to some lead or client; doing so keeps a list of the communication from the contact’s history. There is currently no method of doing this together with the Getresponse CRM, nor is there an easy way to send one-to-one emails to prospects or customers.

Eventually, adding contacts to a pipeline stage is difficult. You need to add contacts to a list , then visit the CRM pipeline, add a deal and hunt your lists to receive the contact you just added. From a usability standpoint this is very clunky and time consuming. You should just have the ability to put in a deal directly to a pipeline and then enter the contact details of your guide or client at the point.
So as things stand, the Getresponse CRM is somewhat half-baked. But that said, it’s a new attribute and the things it can perform on the automation side is remarkable. I’m hopeful that this feature gets developed over time because done right, it is potentially a game-changer for entrepreneurs and SMEs.
Getresponse recently introduced the capability to sponsor webinars on the stage.
Given that webinars are usually used as a lead-generation tactic, the idea of getting your email database and your webinar tool under precisely the same roof is very appealing.
The pricing is also very aggressive too compared to established webinar solutions. For example, one of the primary webinar services, Gotowebinar, charges $199 a month to sponsor webinars with up to 500 attendees; you can really do exactly the same (plus a great deal more) with Getresponse for $165 (so long as your list size is below 25,000).

Also, as described above, the CRM tool might be far better from a usability point of view — adding contacts to deals could be unnecessarily difficult.
The 30-day free trial which Getresponse provides is fully functional and the free trial isn’t contingent upon providing credit card details.
This helps you avoid that annoying”oops I forgot I signed up for this particular trial and today I am getting charged for a commodity I do not use” scenario.
The only down side to this free trial is the fact that it limits the amount of readers you can send to to 1000. It would be good if that could be increased a bit, as it would help potential users try out the tool in more’real-world’ situations.

In the database end of things, Getresponse’s pricing is pretty competitive too – you can host a database comprising 1,000 email addresses for $15 per month with Getresponse, compared to $29 with Aweber; $59 on Campaign Monitor (unlimited send).
Mailchimp’s monthly fee to get a 1,000 recording database will be the like Getresponse’s; and Mad Mimi supplies a slightly more affordable, if less functional offering for $12 a month.
Two final things to be aware of about the pricing front:
Some competing providers — notably Mailchimp – provide free account for users with a small number of records (but these do not offer the full assortment of features that you get on a paid plan).
