Up until very recently Getresponse service was one of the most comprehensive available for email marketing tools: the company offered phone support alongside live chat support, email service and assorted online tutorials / tools.
Regrettably, the telephone support has been discontinued. Instead you are going to need to use live chat (24/7) or email support. Also, and very importantly, you can’t use the landing page A/B testing performance on the cheapest Getresponse program (where the machine shows a sample of your customers different versions of your landing page, computes conversion rates, and finally rolls out the top performing landing page automatically).
If you’re serious about landing pages – and they’re certainly a useful feature – then it is definitely worth looking at one of the costlier Getresponse plans.
You can buy the Landing Pages attribute as an add-on for an additional $15 per month, but very frustratingly, even though the add-on allows you to show an infinite number of landing pages to prospective subscribers, it doesn’t include A/B testing.
Accordingly, if I was interested in the Getresponse landing page functionality, I would not bother with this fairly half-baked add-on: I would just go for one of the more expensive plans (which I suppose is exactly what Getresponse would like one to do) .
Getresponse was ahead of its rivals for quite a while with its responsive email design functionality, which automatically adjusts your e-newsletter’s template so that when a user is reading it on a mobile device, the design and fonts will be optimized for the device in question.
Most competing products have caught up on this today, and extend responsive email templates, but Getresponse is far better than most similar products when it comes to displaying a reactive preview of your e-newsletter – you just hit on a’cellphone preview’ button to get an instant snapshot of your email looks like on a smartphone (see picture right).

Among the most frustrating facets of utilizing many famous CRM tools is that the need to export information to CSV and back to your email marketing instrument in order to do mailouts (or the need to export data from the email marketing tool in your CRM to add leads to it).

But lately Getresponse have upped their game a bit on this front. The CRM is now integrated with all of Getresponse’s email marketing functionality and you can add users to a CRM pipeline according to their activity (form completions, email opens, purchases etc.) or activate autoresponders depending on the addition of a new contact to a pipeline stage.
An example of how you could use this functionality is as follows:
It is possible to add a contact to a specific point on a revenue pipeline based on the page of your website they finished a form on;
you can then send them a automated email tailored to that pipeline stage a few days afterwards;

However, it’s not all fantastic news on the CRM front — there are a few big things missing out of Getresponse’s CRM feature set.
The most glaring omission is e mail activity monitoring. Other CRM packages allow you to bcc a dropbox email address whenever you send an email to a lead or client; doing so keeps a record of the communication in the contact’s history. There’s now no method of doing this with the Getresponse CRM, nor is there an easy way to send one-to-one emails to prospects or clients.
And strangely, if you click a contact in a bargain pipeline, you can’t see their contact activity — i.e., the activities they have taken (open, clicks etc.) in regards to previous communications which you’ve sent to your leads are not displayed. To see this, you need to go from the CRM section of Getresponse, hunt for your own contact in the contacts section and then click in their details. But guess what? Doing so doesn’t exhibit their history.
Task management is non-existent too: unlike dedicated CRM tools, there is no way to assign tasks to other group members.
Eventually, adding contacts into your pipeline stage is tough. You have to add contacts to a list , then go to the CRM pipeline, include a bargain and hunt your lists to receive the contact you just added. From a usability point of view this is very clunky and time consuming. You should just be able to put in a deal right to a pipeline and enter the contact details of your lead or customer at that point.
So as things stand, the Getresponse CRM is a bit half-baked. But that said, it’s a new attribute and the things it can do on the automation aspect is remarkable. I’m optimistic that this attribute gets developed over time since done right, it is potentially a game-changer for entrepreneurs and SMEs.
Getresponse recently introduced the capability to host webinars on the stage.
Given that webinars are generally used as a lead-generation tactic, the idea of having your email database along with your webinar tool under the same roof is very appealing.
The pricing is also very aggressive also compared to based webinar solutions. For instance, among the leading webinar services, Gotowebinar, fees $199 a month to host webinars with up to 500 attendees; you can actually do exactly the same (and a great deal more) with Getresponse for $165 (as long as your listing size is under 25,000).
With regard to attendee limits, the Getresponse’Pro’ program permits you to sponsor a webinar with around 100 participants; the’Max’ plan’s cap is 500.

The 30-day complimentary trial which Getresponse supplies is completely functional and the free trial is not contingent upon supplying credit card details.
