Landing page Builder
Online advertising campaigns that use landing pages will usually generate far more leads in the event, rather than simply directing individuals to a (cluttered!) Website, they point users to attractive’squeeze pages’ containing clear information and a tidy, well-designed data capture form.
Getresponse offers something very beneficial in this regard that the majority of its competitors don’t: a landing page creator (and one that is mobile-friendly to boot).
Products like Campaign Monitor and Aweber ask you to use a third party (and non invasive ) landing page creating tool such as Unbounce or Instapage; Mailchimp lately introduced a landing page functionality but it is yet to become sophisticated at Getresponse’s.
But unless you’re on a Getresponse’Guru’,’Max’ or’Enterprise’ program, the Getresponse landing page performance is rather limited: you can just create 1 landing page, that could only be displayed 1,000 times per month.
Additionally, and very importantly, you can not use the landing page A/B testing functionality on the least expensive Getresponse program (where the system shows a sample of your users different variations of your landing page, computes conversion speeds, and ultimately rolls out the top performing landing page automatically).
If you are serious about landing pages – plus they are certainly a useful attribute – then it’s definitely worth looking at among the costlier Getresponse plans.
You can buy the Landing Pages attribute as an add-on for an extra $15 a month, however very frustratingly, although the add-on allows you to display an unlimited amount of landing pages to potential subscribers, it doesn’t include A/B testing.

An example of how to use this operation is as follows:
You can add a contact to a particular stage on a revenue pipeline depending on the page of your website that they completed a form ;
you could then send a automated email tailored to that pipeline period a few days afterwards;
and based on the actions they took with regard to that email (clicking on a certain link etc) you could automatically move them on another phase of the pipeline and automatically invite them into a webinar.
It’s very smart stuff, and that I can not think of any similar email advertising product offering this kind of tight integration between autoresponders and CRM pipelines. For this type of functionality you normally must look at committed — and more costly — CRM products like Salesforce and Infusionsoft.
However, it’s not all good news about the CRM front — there are some big things missing from Getresponse’s CRM feature collection.
The most glaring omission is e mail activity tracking. Additional CRM packages permit you to bcc a dropbox email address any time you send an email to some lead or client; doing so keeps a record of this communication from the contact’s history. Finally, adding contacts to your pipeline stage is difficult. You need to add contacts to a list , then visit the CRM pipeline, include a bargain and hunt your lists for the contact you just added. From a usability point of view this is very clunky and time consuming. You should just have the ability to add a bargain directly to a pipeline and then input the contact information of your lead or customer at that point.
So as things stand, the Getresponse CRM is a bit half-baked. However, it’s a new feature and the things it can do on the automation side is impressive. I’m hopeful that this attribute gets developed over time since done right, it is potentially a game-changer for entrepreneurs and SMEs.
Getresponse recently introduced the capability to host webinars on the stage.
Given that webinars are generally used as a lead-generation strategy, the idea of getting your email database along with your webinar tool under the same roof is very appealing.
The pricing is also very aggressive also compared to established webinar solutions. By way of example, one of the primary webinar providers, Gotowebinar, charges $199 per month to sponsor webinars with up to 500 attendees; you can really do the same (plus a great deal more) with Getresponse for $165 (so long as your list size is below 25,000).

Whilst its drag-and-drop strategy does in theory provide a very flexible approach to create blocks of content and transfer them around an e-newsletter, in practice it’s quite user friendly to use and may cause accidental deletion of content, or positioning of it in the incorrect part of the e-newsletter.
If you’re able to get your head around it, and practice using it a little bit, it does make for a helpful tool – it is just that the implementation of it could be rather better.
Also, as explained above, the CRM instrument could be better from a usability point of view — adding contacts to deals could be difficult.
The 30-day complimentary trial that Getresponse provides is completely operational and the free trial isn’t contingent upon supplying credit card details.
This helps you avoid that annoying”oops I forgot I signed up for this particular trial and now I am getting charged for a product I do not use” scenario.
The only down side to the free trial is that it limits the amount of subscribers it is possible to send to 1000. It would be good if that could be raised a little, as it would help potential users try the tool out in more’real-world’ scenarios.

It’s also worth pointing out that Mailchimp offers thinner pricing bands, meaning that based on the size of your list, it may sometimes be a slightly cheaper option than Getresponse.
At the smaller database end of things, Getresponse’s pricing is really competitive too – you can sponsor a database containing 1,000 email addresses for $15 per month using Getresponse, compared to $29 with Aweber; $59 on Campaign Monitor (unlimited send).
Mailchimp’s monthly fee to get a 1,000 record database will be the same as Getresponse’s; and Mad Mimi provides a marginally more affordable, if less functional offering for $12 a month.
Two final things to be Conscious of about the pricing :
Some competing suppliers — especially Mailchimp – provide free account for users that have a small number of records (but these do not offer the full assortment of features that you get on a paid plan).

Some improvements to Getresponse do need to be made nonetheless, particularly where the email designer is concerned – its own drag and drop interface is more fiddly and not as responsive than it ought to be.
